mbu Sorry about the typo "ship" instead of "shift" but I could not find anyway to correct it!

Thanks for your answers! It's hard to imagine the shake is typical. Are the transmission mounts too soft or does it have any?

KicknJip Mine does the same thing. Shakes like a dog poopin peach seeds!! It even broke of at around 30k! Ur shifter is actually two pieces. They are joined by a thin piece of metal bent in a half moon around the two parts and welded. Well at 30k miles the crappy welds broke on mine!!

It was a nightmare shifting without the shifter coming up! No leverage at all. My guy at local dealership fixed me up though! They ordered me all new parts, covered under warranty, and even went as far as re-welding the original pieces back together until the new parts came in!!

Have not had any more problems since! But it still does it's dance on rough roads!

kbwwolf Yup, the manual shifter is like the needle on a seismograph during an 8.0 California quake.

OH9JK Mine does the same. It is normal because the shifter is connected directly to the top of the transmission. An automatic has a series of linkages between the gear selector and the transmission and that is why it doesn't shake or rattle.

SilverSport My wiggles range from very little on smooth roads to violently on rough washboard backroads. I have never had a manual that didn't shake some.

I've had many vehicles with manual transmissions and none of them shook like this!
