Get a price to fix the frame. Multiply that by 1.5. Subtract that from KBB value for the vehicle. That's what it's worth.
In the condition you describe, I could see paying $4-6k depending on the specifics of the vehicle's condition otherwise. I don't see a frame repair or frame swap as being that terribly difficult to do, just tedious and annoying. But for a few grand of KBB, it would be worth it to somebody.

I live in central Ohio and in recent winters (except this year) we've seen more snow, hence more salt. I've already been taken to the woodshed on another forum for using that as an excuse, so I won't here other than to say that it is a fact. No, I wasn't as vigilant as I should have been with going to the quarter car wash during the winter, as I'm sure that would have helped, but I can't do anything about that now. Another problem was that this has not been garaged for the better part of its life, which didn't help once it began to go south.
I would consider parting it out, but I just don't have the time, nor the place to take it apart. So, that's what brings me to the question as to what it is worth, selling it whole, but for its parts. I fully expect to sell this to someone who knows what it is and knows what they want. What would someone who had a frame, or another TJ in need of a drivetrain and other parts expect to pay for it?
As mentioned, I was offered $1500 and I nearly jumped on it, but a friend seemed to think that was a bit low. Is that a reasonable offer? What would the threshold be?
Thanks again for your thoughts.

you'll have to take it apart to replace the frame or part it out, otherwise you got to sell it as is and hope for the best offer
got any pics? how bad can a '00 frame be unless you wash it with salt water every week

|the Kolector||The issue is, whoever buys it will either have to part it out or replace the frame if they choose to drive it. Would it be worth you replacing the frame? then sell it or keep it and drive??|

Need help - '00 TJ, bad frame - what is it worth?
I have a 2000 TJ with a badly rotted frame and I am looking to get rid of it, but I am not sure what I can reasonably get out of it. In short, it's a Sport, 4.0L, 5spd, Dana 44 rear w/Trac-lok, 3.73 gears, 141K miles, A/C, CD, soft top/half doors, 31" BFG AT/KOs with some life left. Everything works, except the frame is shot. I parked it due to this. I am the original owner, ran synthetic oil in it - motor is in great shape.
I am not in a position to part it out, but I don't want to give it away either, as I know the parts are worth something. I just don't know what I should accept, since I can't sell it as drivable.
I was offered $1500 for it, but it feels a little low. Any thouhgts are appreciated. Thanks!
