0III0forlife On a 231 T-case the switch that you are talking about should only light up when you are either in 4wd or low range. The only ones that have seen to have the low range or high range switches in them are the TC's for an XJ. Grand cherokees and the like have lights on the dash for 4wd and also 4wd low.

231 switch indicator

On the 231 TC there is a switch that I thought was a sw to indicate when the TC is in low range.

I hooked a led (-) to the sw and grounded the other side of the switch to a frame (-) It works , only thing is its on in any range but neutral. I guess the sw is not what i thought it was.

Is there a sw that indicates when in low range or high ?
