Just put on the headmans and some new wires and plugs. I have to Get something to get the wires all cleaned up and away from the exhaust.

Less HP but a lot more torque. Plus if all this info is right you have a 4 bolt main, which is a stong engine to build.
Im not sure that HP stated is correct either. One site said 185hp.

|yjJEEPyj||I must of gotten it wrong. So 165 HP?? I'm going to have to do something about that.. Was hoping to just throw it in.. but i think i need some more power then 165HP|

|Master4th||I cant seem to find that second number metioned.|
|03-19-2012 11:02 PM|

Ok so you have:
V= Flint Built December 3rd, 1981
UHX 1981 350 165 4 con cab, a/t, A.I.R.
UHX = 1981 350 with 165 HP and a 4 bolt main,
Con Cap [not sure what that is]
Automatic trans, with air conditioning.

V1203UHX...... Then under that it was kinda faded but i think it was..
|03-19-2012 10:50 PM|
|Master4th||On the back of the engine there could be a partial vin. near where the bellhousing hooks.|
|03-19-2012 10:41 PM|
|yjJEEPyj||ok if im reading it right.. It's V1203UHX|
|03-19-2012 10:37 PM|

|03-19-2012 10:27 PM|

|03-19-2012 10:19 PM|

|03-19-2012 09:52 PM|

|yjJEEPyj||Ok so basically I don't need it.. Thanks!|
|03-17-2012 09:46 PM|
Remove it, its such an outdated item, and has a high a failure rate.
|03-17-2012 08:40 PM|
what is this do hickey?? is it needed? Just trying to clean up my engine and relocate wires.
|03-17-2012 09:21 AM|
|yjJEEPyj||Thanks for the info. You rock man!|
|03-17-2012 08:30 AM|
Also make sure your getting a 4x4 tranny or the tailhousing will be wrong.
|03-17-2012 08:07 AM|
|yjJEEPyj||I would love to go TBI but it's out of my price range for now. So Im just going to roll with the carb till I get some more cash.|
|03-17-2012 01:03 AM|
Early 80s Chevy engines weren't the best, your better off usign that block and converting it to TBI, TBI is simple, and WAY more reliable then any carburetor.
You will need to remove ALL your Jeep computer stuff, Sorry, but they are not compatible.
