|Mitchness||If you enjoyed the KM1s take a hard look at Cooper STTs. Same overall tread design. Not too loud on the road, hold a bead like no radial I've ever seen, and have great wear characteristics. I'll never buy another tire.|

|jimmysmith||M/S , M+S all mean mud and snow the alpine symbol (snowflake in the mountain) is the severe snow rating which the BFG A/T has, but not the BFG M/T or the pro comp xtreme m/t. I have ran all of these tires, I'm running the pro comps for the first time now and they have been doing very well although it hasn't been a real severe winter here in Indy, they did very well in ice and snow, the km2 is still very comparable, I didn't find them great in winter but siping them does help,the wear on the km2 was really good also, still waiting to see on the procomps since I've only had them on a few thousand miles. I think either way you go you'll be fine, but you will still end up missing your old BFG A/T's they are such studs.|

Back to the topic, i think km2's are tough to beat for someone that needs a mud tire but still needs good manners on the road. Everything ive heard is very encouraging. The goodyear mtr kevlars are supposed to be great for the rocks too if thats your game. Bfg claims they beefed up the km2's sidewall by over 30% vs the km1, but trusted sources tell me the mtr kevlars are the way to go for sharp rocks.
That said i don't see any rock crawling over here in nh, just a lot of loose soil, mud, roots, and the occasional rock so based on that i chose the km2's. Havent had a chance to get them mounted on the jeep yet but i cant wait to see what they can do.
I havent run or heard too much about pro comp so maybe someone else could chime in there.
You could always go more aggresive and get ltb's or something but tires like that are just plain impractical for on road use and wear out quick on pavement.

|IslandTJ||I would choose the KM2 over the Procomp. I run the KM2 and I am very happy with it's performance on and off the road. The KM2's tread life should hit 50K.|

|ESP||What size wheels are you running? If your running 15x8s then check out the 33x12.5 Duratracs compared to the KM2|

|tjike||I have been running the 35/12.5/15 KM2's on my TJ for about 25,000 miles and love it. TJ is my DD and i offroad about 1 or 2 times a month. I also had them siped from the day i got them. As for the Pro comp i have never ran them and never known anyone running them so i cant say anything about them.|

whats better than a BFG mud km2?
im looking to upgrade from 31" BFG all terrain to a 33" mud tire. I really like the BFG mud km2. also looking into the pro comp xtream mud. do you guys have any suggestions, or which of the two are better? my jeep is second car, but i still drive it 2 to 3 times a week, about 100 miles a week on pavement. i off road once or twice a month.
