Wow 3025826 that sub box looks almost exactly like what I built for my jeep! And I can still stuff my trail cover in next to it in case of surprise thunderstorms.
1 10" sub is plenty loud for me.

|3025826||Big doesn't usually work well in a jeep.. In fact most of us make our own sub box. They'll run you about 53 bucks, If you want another brand look at the thd percentage. (total harmonic distortion). Clarion is the best brand for eqs, and best price. Sounds awesome, love the easy control mine gives|

|Ibuildembig||Byfar the best made box is a Probox, but they are big.....I am a Bazooka dealer as well and they make some nice stuff that doesnt break or break the bank|

|3025826||It's called a 7 band equalizer, made by clarion. But it's only useful if you have an amplified system (your speakers are powered by an amplifier) it does give complete control easily adjustable|

|STREETRANGER||I am looking at craigslist every day, it looks like lots of peeps desperate for cash sell there nice gear. I am all over it. I just don't have the time to make my own box because I work and go to college full time so not much down time in between... so I am stuck, at least for now, with a pre fab box. I am hoping I get lucky on craigslist and find a jeep set up for sale, but in case I can't I was hoping I could find someone on the forums happy with a pre fab box they purchased.|

|3025826||Also I know this can be delicate business with stereo equipment but craiglist can be a really good way to find cheap good stuff|

|3025826||Thanks, and I didn't mean to say kicker wasn't a good brand, I'm just selective in the use of their products as opposed to some who are kicker all the way. But I was in the same boat as you, ive never made a box before this one. if you can get ahold of a jigsaw, glue, nails, and some mdf you can do it man! For around 40 bucks! I'd be more than happy to send you my dimensions, I used a 50 yr old jigsaw to cut mine and at first I didn't know if it would work, but after some sanding and glue I was in business|

|STREETRANGER||Nice setup 3025826. I do not have a way to make a box at this time so I am stuck going with a pre made box at least. I am not set in stone with Kicker, I just want to make sure I get the most decent pre fab box I can get. I am a big fan of Precision Power amps and I can get an amp with more than enough power to handle the subs, I just don't want to deal with the local shops here in Austin because they have way too much mark up on their gear and the labor cost is insane for installation.|

|3025826||Make your own box and pair with a wayy better amp and sub than that premade, excuse me, kicker crap. Experience from a guy whose been there. Now running a alpine type r 10 dual 4 ohm off a Brutus 1200bxi, 900 watts rms. gets loud when I want and sounds damned good. Got sub and amp for under $250 and it sounds better than setups costing over $900. Also running kicker comp 6.5 cvts in soundbar I highly recommend them|

I have enough money to do it now more than likely. I know I need to replace the dash and soundbar speakers because they are factory, and as you know they are pretty terrible. I just need to decide on a sub/box set up.
I was wondering if anyone was familiar with this company, they seem to have alot of good options for jeep owners and I like the Kicker gear I heard at Fry's.
Jeep Custom Subwoofer Boxes at HiFiSoundconnection
They have a decent selection and the box with the two ten's I can order today, and add an amp.
Also found this company and like them as well, I could just add my own kickers.
Jeep Wrangler CJ-YJ-TJ-Sport 2 Door Subwoofer Enclosures
I just want to make sure my box matches my speakers well, and also wondered if it is better to buy a ported or sealed box.

if you go with a powered sub the only one i would suggest is the infinity basslink. if you decide not to go with a powered sub you can get enclosures from ebay and crutchfield. but for your budget a powered sub is what you need.
as for speakers i run infinity kappa perfect components in the soundbar and in the dash. had them powered with an amp from incriminator audio.
i would say to slowly save up enough money to do everything all at once. thats what im doing for my new legacy, got a pile of boxes sitting at work.

Best Speaker Box Manufacturer or Maybe a Kicker Powered Box?
I am a long time reader and first time poster! I have had my 2000 Black Sahara Hardtop a little less that a year and I just dinged 70000 miles. I am fairly convinced the jeep is in good working order so I am ready to add some things to it. I am looking to completely upgrade my stereo in the Jeep and have pretty much figured out what I need to do. To start with I have an old, but good Pioneer AVIC-N1 installed with the xm adapter so I intend to replace that last. I have decided to buy the brackets and get out the Dremel and cut my dash a little bit to put the 5 1/4's in the front dash, and want to put the 6.5's in the sound bar. I am trying to decide on speaker brand, but more than likely I will either go with Kicker or Polk Audio's mid range level speakers, I have read to stay away from the entry level stuff. For now these four speakers will run off of the 50w x 4 that the Pioneer deck provides, but they may get an amp in the future.
I need some help trying to figure out what to do with the subs. I can spend 200-300 dollars , maybe more on a speaker box with subs, and I can also add a small amp to go with it. I really like Kicker's but I do NOT want to build my own box. Can anyone recommend a manufacturer that makes good boxes for TJ's, or should I get a powered box from Kicker, and if so which do you recommend? Also considered Infinity Basslink, but have seen a lot of reviews that they die after the warranty runs out. Anyone that has experience with subs and boxes please respond.
Thanks in Advance,
