JimN A good starting point for research (and possible purchase) is crutchfield.com. You can enter your Jeep stats and the site will show you what fits. I bought my Kenwood head unit from them for a great price, shipping was free, and they included the installation kit and wiring harness. I thought that was a pretty good value. I bought the speakers from BestBuy during one of their frequent sales. I wasn't looking to build a competition sound system, but I'm very happy with the results. INstallation was EASY and the whole system was under $300. Kenwood KDU-352, Polk dxi460's in the dash, Kicker KS525's in the soundbar, stock subwoofer. Main thing - I can connect my iPod and I get a little bit of thump, but crystal clear highs/mids and clean separation. Just a suggestion. And thank you for your service. LT-USNR-Ret.

Basically starting from scratch what speakers should I get for my jeep.

Looking in that direction now as well, I need a whole new audio system. Apparently some one thought I didn't need it while I was in Afghanistan so they stripped my whole stock stereo system...yeah they stole a STOCK system....I gotta get my tunes back.

2002 TJ Sahara - with a/c controls (in case that makes a difference in what head units and adapters I'll be limited to.)

I too need a complete new system. I'd like to get a list of parts, components, and kits available for a complete new entertainment system. Everything from a flat screen GPS head unit to speakers and an amp. I'd consider putting one or two ismall subs in. I want extreme quality at a sub-competitive volume range (cops are very strict about that stuff around here). Considering that the only music I listen to is country and rock I'd like to get a set of 10s that are made for that style of bass. Anyone have any suggestions or opinions on such subs? In the summer time my Jeep hardly sees it's doors and top so I also need to look into a more weather resistant sound bar, speaker covers, etc.

I just got out the military after serving 8 years. I was injured in Afghanistan and was medically discharged so I have quite a bit of time to finally fix my jeep and make a project of it. I have to find a healthy hobby before I go on and find myself in trouble and I don't want that. Just a heads up I'm gonna have a lot of questions and don't know all the lingo but I learn quick, so bare with me if you can.

I appreciate any tips that anyone may have and thank you for your time
