Attila The Hun My 95 wrangler did this last week (right front). I had the same thing happen a couple years ago on my 02 Grand Cherokee. When it would cool off it would be fine (for a while). Then it would randomly happen again.

When I took the caliper off my GC the piston was cracked and falling apart. On the wrangler the rubber seal was cracked and leaking brake fluid.

Replaced the bad wrangler caliper last weekend. Changing the other one tomorrow. If one went bad the other one's probably not much better off.

$19.95/caliper at Advance Auto. Make sure to return the old one to avoid an additional $25 core charge. It will be rebuilt and sold to someone else.

YJ1818 Same thing happened to me 2 days ago,except,mine pulled right but left was smoking hot . Tapped everything with a hammer to knock off any dried mud,cleaned and sprayed WD 40 and no problems...new brakes and calipers next week though

Did what you suggested first, Seems to have worked, I'm assuming the disk wasn't set in properly when it was replaced. Took the caliper off, and cleaned everything out, The caliper was stuck as well, so i'll be replacing those tonight, thanks for the help!

mcseang calipers are less than twenty dollars, replace both as well as the brake hoses

aelwero if you replace it, replace both fronts. they aren't terribly expensive and having one new and one old can cause problems. most commonly, the newer one works better and pulls the wheel when braking.

flatline change the caliper. I tend to change both. good time to check the bearing and axle u-joints.

Brake Seized, need help!

Was on the Highway, when my YJ jerked to the left and almost drove me into oncoming, I pulled over cause I thought I blew a Tire. I was close enough to home to drive home at a whopping 15 km/h. I took the wheel off and smoke was shooting out of the left front caliper. The nuts burned my fingers that's how hot it got. What in the %#$@ happened and how do I fix it.
