|91badass||They can and will collect in San bernardino, i ignored mine, they sent my a fine for $700, so i went down to police station , filled out the paper work saying it wasnt me, they cleared me, because they have to have the accuser present, and they never do, but the they took the money out of my state return, have to wait 60 days to get it back.|

|geocash||I couple of the girls in the office live on the west side and have stacks of these red light tickets. They have been ignoring them and were excited when they heard they could not collect on these tickets. One of the girls now even runs with a paper dealer plate on the front.|

|Six Gun Matt||I would just rip that thing up and put it in the garbage where it belongs, if I get one of those tickets. But in your case, that's a PITA because you need to get it straightened out.|

|530ktm||That is classic. Glad you got this one cleared up so quickly. Usually if you make the appointments at the DMV things go fairly smoothly and quickly. It is stupid you have to do this though as they made the mistake.|

The ticket was in Riverside, so apparently there's still red light cameras. There's actually one in Grand Terrace at a busy intersection too.
I called the number on the ticket and the officer dismissed it right away, I didn't even need to say much. He just said, yeah, doesn't look like a Jeep in the picture + "you're obviously not that old either". The guy in the pic looked at least late 50's early 60's. He was actually a really nice guy, joking around a lot. Said I'm lucky it wasn't a drunk driving hit n' run. They would've showed up at my house and arrested me!
The annoying part is going to be the DMV. I called them and apparently the problem is on their end and they gave me the other guys license plates. I made an appointment for later this week. They said I have to bring in my license plates and registration. Lame that they can't just send me new plates and registration. I guess I understand that they want the other plates back though.
I just hope they don't try to charge me anything for their mistake!

|arsenm277||I think that was just for the city of Los Angeles. I am in Glendale and they enforce it here|
|03-21-2012 06:05 PM|
they had on the news that they can't enforce them and people were not paying them and getting away with it haha

|burton160w||Ugh that's the worst. Just appeal it, take a picture of your car, and good luck. I got one in Philadelphia for pulling too far over the line. $117 and I just ended up running it to get my moneys worth.|

Still got a few in Mo Val, and a couple in Temecula at the busy intersections. It is easy revenue for the cities.

|530ktm||I thought they stopped those dumb ass red light tickets a while ago.|
|03-21-2012 04:18 PM|
Lucky you. I got one of those. $440.00 to pay the fine on it.

Red light ticket in the mail
So I got a red light ticket in the mail. It has my info on it, but the car in the picture is a White Ford Sedan, probably a focus.
I look closer, the license is off by one character, an N where mine is an M. Yay DMV! It has a the license on the ticket listed with the incorrect character. So it wasn't the guy processing the ticket, it's the DMV that screwed up recording the license plate.
Now I get to try to straighten it out.
