If it gets too involved I'll PM you - but my impression is that many people will find your information/input useful so we might keep some discussion here or start a new thread. OEM half doors and details are rare, probably due to the cost, and you are the only person I've seen with both hard top and half doors so far. Thanks for the pix!
One question - do the uppers work with the half doors and hard top combination? It doesn't look like they would.

As of now my half doors are in storage. I will install them in about a month. Just had shoulder surgery a month ago so can't do much for another month. I will post lot of pics for everyone after I get them on.
I had installed the half doors a week after I bought the jeep to check and see how it fits and I took them off the next day. Here are some pics. Were taken in the garage.
Feel free to PM me with all your questions.

Hello sunnykk - we just purchased a black forest green wrangler a few weeks ago and want to put some half doors on it. We like the OEM doors and although they are more money, they look so nice that we are going to spend the money for them. I have many questions though - and I thought you could help...do you have pictures of your half doors on your black forest green UL? I would like to see them (I looked at your profile pictures and didn't see any). Also, how are the half doors working with your hard top, or do you not ever have them on together? It's really hard to find info on these doors; we are trying to figure out many potential issues before we put all the money into them. I may need to start a whole new thread to ask some of the questions, sinced there seem to be multiple issues with these half doors and it's quite a mystery.
If anyone has stories to share about installing OEM half doors, has pictures of the 2012 interior panels, info about the plastic windows and perhaps new window frame design, installing electric locks in the doors, mirror options, and if there are any real issues with putting them on a Sahara, these are just a few of the issues......

In my case, the dealer mechanic recommended it. I personally did not want to install it myself as I was not very confident about it so I let them do it.

I do have power locks and it works on my half doors. Each door has a wire connector that has two wires. Plug and Play with the OEM female connector on the body of the Jeep.

Yes I was also alarmed at the cost of half doors.

You'd have to add a lift. And a rear bumper. And maybe even some wheels and tires.
I don't even have $5k in mods in my Jeep now. Would I trade my lift, tires, wheels, bumper mods, interior mods, etc. etc. for a set of half doors? No way.

Half Doors – Limited time pre-production offer from Strike Force Zebra
also, people seem to like the rugged ridge doors. going factory doesnt make sense since you don't get power options anyways. Better construction, sure. for 5k? no way

|Jeepin Dave||$2,500 makes sense, but not for sure at $5,000.|

The Jeep Order Book will not allow a dealer to order Remote Start if the half doors are selected. Do not understand this.
Sunnykk, do you have auto and remote start? If so, does it work?
Thought I read somewhere that alarm is deleted with half doors. Does anyone know if it is true?
Thanks for the info!

|Vin||I bought the Mopar half doors as a kit and put them together after I had all the parts painted. It's is pretty easy. I'm not sure who told you about aligning the doors, but it's not as tricky as you make it out to be. Also because I bought the doors as a kit, I also installed the electric door lock actuators and still have power locks on my Jeep with half doors. The kit was $2K from JeepsAreUs, paint was $350. I see the doors are cheaper now than when I bought them.|

I got the extra set of half doors along with the full doors.
There is not much you can do about the half door pricing. They are pretty close everywhere and are in line with what you quoted. I went through my dealer and they gave me 10% off MSRP.
What kills you is the paint and the install. Cost me $900 for paint and $300 for install (If I remember). I was there, it took him a good 3-4 hours to get the doors lined up correctly and install the hinges.
The install is a bit tricky. It's not plug and play. You have to install the hinges and line them up and it takes more than one iteration to get it lined up correctly so the door closes correctly. The more you mess with the hinges, there is a danger of the paint cracking on the torque screws of the hinges.
I personally, did not want to deal with it and had the dealer install the doors for me.

My favorite are tube doors.
However, they get cold at highway speeds even summer nights. Need a way to break up the airflow. Also dogs might feel better with half doors. Do you have a good solution?
Also half doors are good at deflecting thrown mud. Is there a good alternative?
Will send him a private message and do some more research. Was surprised at the totals.
One can order the half doors as a no cost replacement for the full doors. One gives up the power windows, locks, mirrors, etc. Seems like there should be a discount. Will revisit this.
One can buy a nice bumper and Winch for $5,000.

Here's a thread with a lot of half door discussion...don't think it answers your question, though.

Half doors are insanely expensive. Here's another thread discussing some aftermarket alternatives: (http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/jk-...et-147952.html).
My recollection though is that another forum member did what you're looking to do and even did a thread on it. Run some searches to see if you can find it--I think he said what he paid.
Edit: It was sunnykk. Doesn't look like he did a thread on it, but I recall him discussing it in another somewhere. In any event, here's an exchange on the topic:

I'll stick with my tube doors, thanks.

I have nothing to add but...
Is that how much half doors are?!

Half Door costs & alarm
Is the alarm deleted if ordered with half doors?
Many of the other power options are.
Thought half doors are something discounters would not have in stock and would not discount much.
So asked about ordering an extra set of doors with a new Rubicon Unlimited – normal full doors and an additional set (4) of the doors (half).
The prices seemed high. Are these normal? Any less expensive places/ways to buy?
Any way to bring the costs down?
