If I am short on time and just feel the need to get the jeep in the dirt, I hit the trail that starts off of greenspot rd, (the one that takes you up to the dam rd) or one off of 38 that takes you to the lookout tower and ends up back on 38.

I will keep you in mind and we can hook up and hit a trail when were both available, maybe Cleghorn or Silverwood area. Since we just did Calico, we dont have a run planned right now..I stay in the low lands until the snow clears.
the dam road is the one im talking about. i think its pretty fun for just getting out.
i dont know where the one on the 38 is. would you want to show me some day? As far as cleghorn and silverwood, i have to get the gas, so let me know ahead of time. sounds pretty fun.

i live right at the bottom of the 330.

Ok, cool. 8:45 is much better! Yeah, we went to Peggy Sues after which makes more sense to me. It's not a far drive, but yeah, would suck to air up just to go get breakfast...

WOW!That ROCKS!

Ok, so here's the deal. By Saturday morning, I'm going to have been living in a cot-tent for 2 days. I'll be as my tank says, a "Filthy Dirty Jeep Girl...in a doo-rag most likely by then and lookin' Rough! MJR has a Meet and Greet planned at 800am at Peggy Sues Saturday. I don't plan on going to that (I'll be stinky) and I don't want to have to air up and all that...I know the trails..I know there's going to be runs on Odessa and Doran in the AM after the meet and greet. My plan is to be sitting in front of one of them, ready to go when they get back from Peggy Sues. I'm not sure what my friends want to do....I hate that the meet and greet is there.

I know 10am is too late regardless if you go to the meet and greet or not. Get up early Bro! Be in Mule canyon by 745am ? ? That way you'll for sure hook up with us.. Yes?

If I have to do the Peggy Sues thing, I will..if it's easier..but you still need to be there early...

I H8RDS ([QUOTE=suicideking;2180836]What are you guys doing Saturday? That would probably be the only day I could make it out. Probably unlikely that I would make it, but possible.

Plus, I might slow you down, still pretty new. Would need a lot of spotting: I did the beginner run yesterday, but wanted to do the advanced. My wife was with me and was the first time she has gone, so had to keep it tame.[/QUOTE)

Because this is MJR's annual event, I'm not sure what we're running Saturday..but I'm sure it won't be what you ran this weekend. We could choose that, but probably won't and will run something harder. I normally lead the trails when I go with my friends, but I'm going to hang towards the back so I can make as much noise as I want and misbehave if I feel like it. (without being judged) SO, you can roll behind me and follow my line. If you should have any "challenges" I would have no problem spotting you..One of my closest friends just started wheeling. His first runs were with me. He has yet to be strapped up Doran or Odessa. You'd be surprised at what your rig is capable of following the right lines My plan is to run Odessa and Doran days and nights, Wall Street canyon is another one...it has some offshoots that are pretty good too...if you feel like it.

You should come out!

I organized one 2 weeks ago, there was another the week before. A stock Jeep could do most of it, though better if you have a little lift.

I've been wanting to hit the Big Bear trails, but many of them have snow on them right now, so I'm waiting for spring for the snow to melt.

I just did Calico yesterday with the meet up group. If you can go next week with IH8RDS, that would be a great place to go. I'd go myself, but probably can't swing going 2 weeks in a row. Tempting though!

I've done John Bull, Dishpan, Holcomb Creek (I'm a crew member with MJR and help maintain that trail), Gold Mountain, Heartbreak Ridge...just to name a few. None of those are rated easy..it's wise to have at least a rear locker, a lift and 33's. Heartbreak Ridge is probably the easiest one listed...John Bull; the hardest. The last link on my signature is pics of Big Bear.

I H8RDS You're out there pretty close to Big Bear and Barstow. You have some of the best wheeling around out there. I drive 3.5 hours to get out there. There's a big bunch of us running Calico next weekend. Trails are everything from mild to wild. All kinds of runs will be going so you can pick according to your driving skills and rig set up. We always welcome new wheelers to our group!
