xsdbs Yes the 2012 stereos will play streaming audio. Which radio do you have? The should be an "AUX" button for the RES & REQ radios, then on the RHB or RBZ radios you will press the "MEDIA" button then select "AUX" in the upper tabs. OR, you could just press the VR button and say "streaming audio" and it should start play. ON some phones you need to initiate the playback from the phone directly after the above steps are done. Some phones start automatic playback.

I have a 2012 and the way I figured it out by accident was by using the steering mounted sound controls on the right side. The one behind the steering for the volume. The center button on these set of switches toggles the stereo to FM, AM, SAT and also to Blue Tooth.

But to do all that, the phone should have already been set-up and paired with your Jeep and the BT needs to be on. It will not toggle to BT if your phone BT is off.

strider_mt2k When I discovered this I immediately loaded up a video on my phone; however, processing delay caused a lack of sync with the screen action.
So much for that idea!

Glad to read that the arm is getting better Sunny!

App store on my iPhone doesn't list it. Is that the name of the app?

xsdbs Kb, how are you doing,
Just thinking, have you considered installing a 12v power port (lighter) in the console and then using a USB charger plugged into the phone? This way you wouldn't have cables dangling fro the dash but hidden in the console instead. This would give you acconcealed way to charge and still stream audio.

xsdbs As long as the phone is within the bluetooth signal range, the reception will be the same. The BT range is within 30 ft of the radio. So the reception would be the same if the phone was in the center console, a non metallic breifcase in the rear seat or on a shelf inside the house and your jeep parked in your driveway.

GonzoBobH Once you figured out that, then you can stream Pandora and such from your phone too. Another thing I did was to download audio books from my local library for free -- and stream that through my stereo as well. Needless to say, I never renewed my Sirius account after I figured this out.

Eats up the battery. I always carry a spare battery with me so a quick swap and I am good to go. Can do it only once though.

The reception is awesome and I mean awesome. I leave my phone in the cup holder or sometimes I will give it to my little boy in the back seat and let him choose the songs. No issues with the reception whatsoever.

Thanks for asking mate. It will be 5 weeks on Monday. Just got the sling off this week and the doctor has given the okay to go to the next stage for physiotherapy. Coming along pretty well.

I still need to wait for a month to install the skid plates. They have been sitting in my garage for 4 weeks now.

It's like a new discovery. I had purchased the audio cable and I was using the wired method until now.

I had tried it before but didn't work so I had given up on it until one day I discovered it by accident. Mind you, if I had not discovered it, who knows how much longer I would have gone with the wired method.

Lab Lover I too discovered this by accident, couldn't figure out why certain songs were playing when I knew they weren't on my Ipod.

I also discovered how strong the hands free is in our Jeep, only not on my phone.

My husband was in front of me at a stop sign in our old 02 Wrangler. His phone rang through my Jeep, so I took the call. I was shocked when it popped up, and even more so when the light turned and he got about a cars length in front of me and I still was on the call.

I told him it's a good thing it wasn't his girlfriend, I might have had to just put it in 4 low and crawl right over the top of him!! Haha
