Better Post a picture !!.... "BH"
Are you talking about the Pre-Heat tube for the air cleaner ?? This is a flexible tube that directs heated air to the intake of the air cleaner. This should be Heated air from Around the outside of the exhaust manifold and should NOT have Exhaust gasses or pressure leaking out, or noise.

|CCowboy||Hmmm? I will have to check. This hole is like 2 1/2 to 3" across. This is the same size as the air intake tube remember. Hard to believe there would be a plug that large, but I will check. Thanks.|

Figure out what the thread size is in the hole ( I assume it's threaded?) and get a plug from the hardware store and put it in the hole.
Providing you don't need it any longer....
Some of these threads are std. tapered pipe threads, some I understand are Metric. Plugs are available at either good Auto Parts Stores (NAPA) or a good Hardware store... "BH"

Exhaust manifold leak
I just bought a 2002 Wrangler about a month ago. When I purchased it I noticed the beginnings of an exhaust leak, but it is getting louder. I checked under the hood and feel the exhuast coming out a hole in the top of the exhaust maniford. It appears that a previous owner may have changed the type of intake filter system from what was factory installed. The hole appears that it previously ducted back into the intake to warm the intake air. Can this exhaust manifod hole be capped off, and if so how do I do that?
