snowmanzz13 thanks for your help and it was one of those things that made me want to hit myself

jpdocdave crap, wish i'd thought of that. just kidding brotha. usually isn't a coinsidence, usually got to go back to where you were first. glad you got it figured out.

snowmanzz13 well, i looked all around on the internet and found someone else with the same issue, turns out it was a ground under the dash on the drivers side. i pulled the dash and sure enough my same ground was loose, re attached it at another area and turned the key and it fired right up. basically, a whole day wasted chasing around nothing to find out it was a stupid error on reassembly

jpdocdave put gas in tank, just kidding. now you know what you don't have, i'm gonna say it again, check the stuff from where you were. the fuse block is right under your left side speaker, check fuses, and fuel pump relay. after that you gotta see if you have power at the fuel pump, on top of tank. if you have power and ground at pump, then pump is bad. you cold also have pressure, but no injector pulse, this is less likely, but check fuel pressure just to eliminate that.

snowmanzz13 ok, well it has spark, fires with starter fluid but will not run, how should i go about checking the fuel system?
04-13-2008 08:21 AM
jpdocdave it sounds like this happened right after speaker install, i'd make sure nothing is disconnected, or a fuse didn't blow first. i've seen very weird coinsidences, but usually if it happened right after you did something, go back there. if you don't find anything, then you gotta see why there's no start, spark, fuel, and compression.

4.0l sahara Check the three major things needed to run spark, fuel and compression. Likly fuel or spark.

wont start?

well, to start it's 10pm so this is going to be stuff i'm checking out in the morning. I went to get in the jeep to take off and go see a movie, well, it wont start. turns over but nothing. I drove it last night and put gas in last night as it was getting low. Drove fine last night. Well, now, it feels loke maybe my throttle cable is stretched out? Today, i changed the front speakers by following this http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereor...nglerFSpk1.htm

I dont think when i took the dash off or moved the windsheild it effected the throttle in anyway.

Even if it wasn't the throttle cable, it should still start...as i dont give it gas to start it anyway, but it doesnt start.

any suggestions would be appreciated

it's a 91 with a 2.5L all stock motor from what i can tell
