Glad to hear it worked! It used to happen occasionally to an older vehicle as I was growing up. That's how we fixed it and I knew about it. Happy I could help!

loganInaYj Sorry I failed to realize you solved your problem lol

loganInaYj Take your door off. Remove the plastic panel on the inside. I just went threw this today. Hit everything with bolt off and just be easy with it. My friends did this as well and he broke a pusher in half. Once you get it free. Do yourself a favor and grease everything. Alot. Lol mine didn't lock and was getting stuck. I thought I was gonna just replace it. I did the steps above and it feels better than it ever did and the lock works perfect as well. I used some graphite on the locks

wherewasi Just a follow up on this. I've been doing engine work to get this machine running and really haven't thought about the door hardware for a while. But I did take your advice back in March and greased the heck out of the latches and catches and rod connections etc. So last weekend I pulled the door handle and pulled on those latch teeth with my ratchet handle and voila!!!! ... opened right up.

Thanks again for giving me some direction. This site rocks!

moscoeb You can also try putting a rod(like a screwdriver) in where the pin would go, press door handle and pull rod out simulating opening the door.
Make sure the catch in the door is fully closed and not stuck halfway though.

wherewasi Awesome... thanks for the help guys. I'll get at it tonight after work.

0III0forlife if the door is open, and the latch is closed, finish closing the latch into the lock position. push on the top and bottom arms that grip the striker pin. you have to go the whole way to locked before the handle will release it to open.

Blackjack93 are all the rods (in and outer) still connected. if yes you should be able to take the inner panel off and reach in and release it from inside might try to oil it up on the inside first. if that does't work try taking the latch off and work at it off the door to loosen it up

cronz Get a third hand in there, try prying while a friend pulls on door handle.

Door latch stuck in CLOSED position.

Anyone know the trick to getting a stuck latch to open up? I tried prying etc... hit it with some penetrating oil... it won't budge. It's the part that wraps around the striker post on the door frame.
