|erickpl||I put in a Super Start Extreme AGM from O'Reilly's. Built by East Penn, it fires my Jeep faster than it EVER has... It's not a Diehard Platinum 4, but it isn't the price either. May be a good alternative battery if your Jeep sees the offroad often.|

|Jeepneck||Yeah I guess I can try that. I don't understand why the battery would battery would cause it to happen randomly. But I was thinking of changin it anyways I think it's an old one|

|Jeepneck||I removed everything and thoroughly cleaned it with throttle body cleaner. I took off the IAC and the part under it ( I forget the name) and I cleaned the breathing tube under the part across from it. I took everything off and cleaned it basically|

If you only sprayed it, the next step would be to actually remove the IAC (two torx bolts hold it in) and give a thorough cleaning by hand. Sometimes there is enough gunk on there it won't be cleaned by the spray of the throttle body cleaner.

Clean the throttle bodies and try again.
If it still happens, have the battery tested. Wierd idling was about the only sign I had my battery was about to die. It'd run fine, but idle terribly.

Alright I cleaned the throttle body and iac with throttle body cleaner. I hasn't done it until last night.
I was talking to the guy at the parts store and he recommended I change the air temp sensor. Would that be a good idea? Would anyway happen to have a picture of were it's located? I believe it's on the intake just not sure where
Its only been acting up when it's been real warm out until it did it last night. So idk what I should try next.

|Mom sold the Jeepster||03 TJ 4L had intermittent check engine light and the dealer said its the tps and wanted $250. I bought one for about $40 online and changed it myself. The replacement part resulted in low idle and the motor would just shut down unless I kept my foot on the gas. Put the original back in and it ran just fine. Got a replacement for the replacement and had the same problem. Now it runs fine with the original tps but still get an occasional check engine light. Changed the plugs last year, they looked good except for a bit of carbon fouling on the inner 2 cylinders so I put a K&N filter in the factory box to try and get more air to those cylinders|

|skiagi2k||Hey guys. I had the same problem with my 01 TJ. Coded crankshaft sensor. Switched it out and it hasn't cut off since. Put it on diagnostic to check for sure but that worked for me. I also still idle at 450-500 though so....still tryin to figure that out. I pulled throttle body and IAC and cleaned them real good. Also changed plugs. Used champion platinum. Still low idle though. Any thoughts on that?|

at a stop light, and at idle, the IAC (idle air controller) takes over to maintain idle (since the throttle body butterfly is closed). It is a bypass that allows air past the butterfly.
Throttle body cleaners get the passage clean for a smooth idle.

Jeep acting funny at stop light.....?
I've been driving it all day. And it doesn't do a darn thing.
Then I come to a traffic light and stop and it starts idling really rough and then dies. It fires back up and I am able to drive it to the next traffic light it which is does it again.
It only does this on occasion. Not all the time. Someone told me it could be the idle control valve or something. I've replaced the fuel pump twice. Because it was doing that a lot. But that was maybe 6 months ago. It's rather irritating when it happens haha
Has anyone had this issue before? Or have any idea what could be causing it
