OME is known to be a great company though.
I had some issue's with my 2.5 TF lift which is far from normal. Their costumer service was top notch helping me fix the problems.
I'm now running RK coils and they ride fantastic. Have RK's control arms ready to go on. If I like them .... I am most likely going to go all RK for the quality and the fact they're close to me
Now if we are taking BB's, there is not much of a difference between the kits. The better ones will have more parts. Shock choice is huge and IMO play the biggest role in ride quality.

Finally remembered how to do pics here:

I've got a 2012 JK with Smittybilt XRC MOD front bumper with full width end caps & bull bar, and a Quatratec Q9000 winch, as well as XRC rear bumper with swing out tire carrier. I've got 33" Nitto Trail Grappler tires. I am using the ProComp 2.5" lift with no spacers.
Price was inexpensive - lift is GREAT. Most people think I've got a 3" lift at a minimum. It's served me very well so far - especially offroading. The look & stance is great. It is a bit "stiff" on pavement - but I'm happy with that. The proper inflation of tires helps (high 20's / low 30's). No sag or unbalance front or rear.

I just got my 13 JKU a little over a week ago. I was going to go with the Teraflex leveling kit, but the dealer talked me up to the $800 2.5' with coils and the terflex shocks. I couldn't be happier.
I did my first trail drive yesterday, and the front just pops over rocks and obstacles rather than compressing (like my previous ride F150). I suspect there might have been more dive or compression on the front suspension when dipping down into ruts and such with the simple leveling kit.
The dealer had trouble getting the original Coopers I wanted and we ended with the these duratracs. I like them so far!

My vote -- RK or Teraflex.
The TF kit w/ extensions can be bought for around $500

First time posting, but thought this would be a good thread to show what I've done after reading this forum for two months.
Bought the OME normal duty lift, actually got about 3" from it in the front, didn't measure the back. Ride quality is very good. also bought a bilstien steering stabilizer.
Installed the lift, rear in about 4 hours one night, and the front in about 3 hours the next night.
They say you don't really need the adjustable track bars, but I bought them, didn't like thinking the axles weren't perfectly centered. Also got the spidertrax wheel spacers for the best clearance.
I then got the Firestone Destination a/t in 285-75-17. I like the stock wheels and like the option of painting black with the plastidip.
I was actually getting 20mpg with the stock and now I average 16-17, can't really avoid that, I suppose.
1st pic is what I bought, 2nd is lift with stock tires, and 3rd is complete.

I think I will keep the stock shocks and go with a spacer lift to fit 33s- for now. So many spacer lifts out there, though 1 3/4 seems to be the ticket. I actually like the stock ride. Not sure which spacer kit to go with yet.
When lifting, I'll probably go with the OME light-medium kit.

. TF was great throughout though. Gotta love great CS and I will continue to recommend them to anybody.

My TF 2.5 coil w/9550s works like a champ on and off road. I run it hard on the trails. The only reason I have for wanting a change is more hight, in the future.

In fairness, Ken's poor TeraFlex experience is pretty unique. Most folks seem to have no problem with their 2.5" TeraFlex--including me.
That said, I only picked up my TeraFlex coil lift because somebody was selling it that had never used it, and I got a great price. Until that moment, I was planning on the RK 2.5" stock mod lift.
But I'm definitely pleased with how it worked out.

|Erye22||Just put in a 2.5" rough country lift kit with coil springs and shocks all for $450|
|08-25-2012 09:31 AM|
|08-25-2012 09:09 AM|
The ride is similar with those 2 shocks although the TF's have some quality issues from what I read.
|08-25-2012 09:01 AM|
I didn't realize how little more it costs to go with Bilstein shocks and the Teraflex 2.5" coil lift kit without shocks compared to the Teraflex 2.5" coil lift kit with shocks. Are Bilstein shocks much better than the Teraflex shocks? Sounds like the swap for Bilstein might be a no brainer.
|08-25-2012 05:20 AM|
A lot of the bad reviews stem from the shocks.

|amel22||i picked up my 2.5" ProComp lift kit 4 days ago and theyre sitting in my room. I read bad reviews about it so imma send them back and just add 250 more for OME lift kit. is it worth it? i shouldnt have any problems with OME heavy load when i install heavy front and rear bumpers yes?|
|03-28-2012 04:11 PM|
Well from what I can tell coil lifts are more expensive.....and better for the Jeep and the ride, yes?
I just need something so if I wanna upgrade my 33's to 35's I can without giving up the smoothness of what I got going on now.
Thanks for your help!

Unless you have a garage local that specializes in 4x4's, but then you are most likely going to pay more.
Every thing you need is here to help you.
Grab a friend and go to town
You want a BB or coil lift ?
2.5 TF coil like Jon's with 35's

|jonf30||Here's a 2.5 TF coil spring lift with Bils 5100 shocks. The wheels/tires are 17" MB Chaos and 285/75/R17 Duratracs (almost 33"). I love it. SInce the pics I got my tires flipped so the black is out now. Gotta get some new pics. And a 5th tire/wheel combo!|

OME HD coil spring lift (3" Lift) with bumpers & winch sitting on 33x12.50R17 Cooper STT tires. Very happy with this lift as it has not sagged with the added weight.
Things I added: Shocks, TF Lower Adj Control Arms (Caster can be adjusted), Longer rear swaybar links, JKS F/R track bars (center Axles), 2" bumpstops, longer brake lines.
A few pictures with stock fenders and OME lift & 33's
Last week I Upgraded to BW flat fenders....just before I get my 35's mounted.

|appleman46||Here's a question:: I won't be installing my own lift what am I looking at for a reference price if I go somewhere professional to get it done, saying I go with a 2.5 inch lift. Also, what's with the big price changes between 2.5 lifts between different companies? How much does the material used actually change? Lastly, what's the difference between: Teraflex 1355210 - TeraFlex 2.5" Budget Boost & Shock Adapters for 07-12 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec and Teraflex 1251002 - TeraFlex 2.5" Lift Kit with Shocks for 07-12 Jeep® Wrangler JK 2 Door - Quadratec besides the obvious.... Thanks!!|
