|billybobjoe||I am also nutless, my jeep came that way Although I am thinking of putting a plastic washer between my upper and lower hinge because the door opening and closing has peeled all the paint off the lower part of my hinge and it's starting to rust. Has anyone done this? The washer I mean.|

If you don't have a hard top, you're not deterring anything.
If you do have a hard top and lock the doors, you're good. Can't take the doors off unless they're open.

|Peepers||On my 98 when I used to put the nuts back on, I could sock them down until the door wouldn't swing anymore. probably just so you can't do that and some idiot would take it to the dealership saying the door doesn't swing anymore...|

I am also nutless .
I do throw some grease on the pins when I put the doors back on. makes it nice and easy to take the doors off the next time.

|robhurlburt||the only reason i keep the nuts on is to deter theifs form stealing my doors.|

Thanks for the responses though, I suppose it is not as big as a problem as I thought to have to doors on without the nuts.

|Beaker541||Took mine off and I'm gonna cut the threaded part off so it's not hanging under the hinge.. They just look bad in my opinion|

I believe I have 3 nuts. Is that odd?
Haven't used them since I took the doors off about (30 minutes after leaving the stealership).

|robhurlburt||pretty sure there is supposed to be clearance so you don't tighten down on the actual hinge part. my '99 and '06 the threads stop early|

Question about putting on full doors
Howdy guys, recently I removed the doors off my TJ for the first time ever. I have put them back on without any problems. Iv'e noticed that after I have tighten down the pins with the nut and try to lift the door, it lifts up a little bit. I wanted to know if this was normal?
My door opens and closes with no problem, but I don't remember my door having a little bit of play before I took off the door with the bolt tighten down. Did I need to add a washer or something? The nut is threaded on right and everything. Anybody have this issue?
