MiltsJeep ask for at least 1% below invoice and try to get 2%. based on what dealers make on new cars this would be a good deal. in total you should get about 5% below sticker.

Wow, this is almost as good as the friend that went in the hotel for 15 minutes and the jeep burnt to the ground that wild thing...

I was just getting ready to buy a new jeep after working the world for the best deal and suddenly my GF called to tell me don't forget about our wedding we've been planning for a year, in a couple months.

Thats the funniest <insert CoC violation here> I've read hear since spring break!

-JC- I just took the consumer reports price quote in, which showed the invoice price for the base vehicle and all options. This gives the invoice price, then you subtract the holdback (1000) which is over 3% below invoice, and that is how much it cost for them to order the vehicle. Then I asked how much they wanted to order it and they said 500. Deal. This endes up being about 1.5% below invoice and is fair. The whole thing only took 30 min. Of course, I did have to wait 8 weeks for it to be built!

Affiliate Rewards is a Chrysler program that allows customers to buy at 1% below invoice and still get any other incentives you qualify for.

You can obtain a Affiliate Rewards control number thru tread lightly or a friend or family member that works for Chrysler. You might be able to obtain it thru your employer if your employer is an affiliate or supplier to chrysler.

I'd try to be close to EP less the affiliate rewards.

If they are playing hardball then just tell them you will order one the way you want it.

Correct,

FFP is Friends and family price, same as Affiliate rewards and supplier pricing.

dalearyous i have been doing this all over phone and email. they haven't even seen me in person.

finance manager called me hour ago and i explained the situation, told her i know month is ending and their quarter ends april 2nd and she started laughing and i replied: yes i have done my homework and she goes it sounds like you have. let me get back to you.

mckey73 Just an idea, when you make your counter offer and he goes to run it by his manager - go home (If they have your phone #). When they call just tell them you are having a tough time deciding between the Jeep and the FJ cruiser. If you aren't comfortable with that then take a walk on their lot, to the furthest most remote part of their lot, so you can find a quiet place to really think. Trust me, they will find you.

Headlights, $3 - check. Tail lights, $2.00 - check. Fenders, $35 - check. Doors, $100 - check. Hood assembly, $60 - check. Bumpers from recycled coffee cups and milk jugs, $3.50 ea - check. Grill, $16 - check. One of the lowest vehicles on the planet to insure cuz there cheap to fix making it's perceived worth, more, - check.

I promise, there is NOTHING like a Jeep Wrangler in so many ways it's crazy!

Fiat is laughing all the way to the bank on Wrangler sales.
If you actually want the real numbers, there's a few companies that do supply chain analysis. Example: iSupply does it with Apple gear.

Why does anyone think these vehicles even exist? Ask Uncle Sam, Im sure he will tell you "cuz they only cost $1,256.00 to make and the lowest bidder will get the contract for 10 million of them". They aren't even worth bringing home after deployment they're so cheap!!!

its about 2 months of trolling here and there, reading, etc ...

just going to close my eyes and go for it. will be motivation to hustle extra hard after work and on weekends.

radioscooter My experience:

1. I had one dealer who embraced the Tread Lightly discount, told me it made his world easier and his whole attitude improved when I mentioned it.
2. Next dealer didn't know what I was even talking about and refused to deal with me via email.
3. Next dealer laughed when I said the words "Tread Lightly" as if I was making a joke. Then said quickly, "Oh you were serious..."

I think once you have the TL discount in place, it's supposed to be like Chrysler family and friends and will not drop much more than that. That will all change though if it's something on the lot that they're desperate to move, it's the end of the month etc.

Agreed, it is kinda scary. It's a major purchase and you should put a lot of thought into it, which it looks like you're doing. FWIW, it's much less scary after you make the purchase.

i think its just cold feet before the final moment of buying. i have never owned a new vehicle before (all my other vehicles were worth less that $3000 with tons of miles) so its scary i guess.

Cosmic Charlie I paid 4% below invoice and qualified for 0%/36 months. In the end, though I took 1.7% for 72 months to keep the payment low in the unfortunate case that I lost my job or something, I'd still be able to make the payment (there were rumors swirling around of lay offs when I bought 2 months ago). I will, however, pay it off well before 72 months.

With all the rewards programs available, you can walk in and get 1-2% below invoice. But, you can definitely do better if you're willing to play a bit and find the right dealer.
