Mikegwi Gate that looks like a good deal as long as its in good shape. I'm hoping talk the dealer down to $10000 plus my car for the 2004 rubicon with only 54000

christoph Sounds familiar. I think many on this forum probably started out this way. Overall I'd say get a Wrangler. Best all around vehicle when you consider the variability as DD and fun vehicle. Best to search for something you can hang on to for a long time and build up if need be. Your requirements are pretty straight forward and you shouldn't have a hard time finding something decent. Good luck!

Gate53 I just looked at this one and the wife is still trying to talk me out of it 2004 jeep rubicon

Mikegwi just test drove a wrangler rubicon today and loved it
The dealer ship has three there that i might be able to pull off for my price range plus trading in my car.

Here they are:
Used 2003 Jeep Wrangler Sport For Sale | Dubuque IA .
Used 2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon For Sale | Dubuque IA .
Used 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited For Sale | Dubuque IA .

Any recommendations on them? Should i look out for something on them?

Mikegwi That one is a big out of my price range and a tad far away. Which one or ones out of the list I posted would be good do you think?

dabolt55 Out of your choices, take the rims and tires off and mod your way, if price and jeep is real, check it out. then maybe what the last three posts said, that does look good..Good luck in your decision.

This looks like a winner to me. Wish I had the 4.0. Great engine.

sahara2k This would be my choice... http://www.joeson93.com/mobile/mdeta...?VID=146686901

Of course I may be biased...

Btw...always buy unmodifies if u can. U don't want to inherit someone else's problems with poorly done mods.

Skol-Vikes Depending where you are at in WI this guy has some nice jeeps for a dealer. I thought of driving over to his place from Western MN to buy, but found my Jeep closer to home.

Mikegwi Thanks for all the input guys it really helped me set in stone my thoughts about the wranglers. I was also thinking the TJ would be in my range, do you guys know any problems they have?

Here are a few possibilities I found what do you guys think:
02 jeep wrangler lifted
2004 JEEP WRANGLER 2D SPORT UTILITY X
1997 wrangler
>>> 97 jeep wrangler <<< (sell the rims and get some real rims and tires on this one)
1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ (Trade for: 1968-72 Muscle 1987-93 Mustang) (would only get this one if he would put the ls1 in it for me lol)

do the prices look decent on those?
for the last one he said to offer what do you think would be a good deal on that with out the ls1? with the ls1 installed?

mindhunter I agree that Wranglers are both the best choice, and very addicting. You will want to mod it, then keep modding it. Then when you think its perfect, someone will pull up next to you in a Jeep at a stop light with something better, and you will mod it again. That price range pretty much puts you in a TJ or a Cherokee Sport, so either way make sure you opt for the 4.0L Inline 6 engine. It's hands down the best engine that Chrysler every made and is not even broken in at 100k miles. Plus it will give you the power you need for both daily driving and offroading. Good luck and welcome to the family!

Casotakar1229 wrangler if you want the most diverse of the two (you said you were looking at cherokee). if you like convertibles and being able to wheel and doing fun modifications etc, then I'd say a wrangler is right up your ally. tons of great people on this thread willing to help you out and this community if tight. good luck with your decision...but beware, if you buy a wrangler, it gets VERY addicting.

New to the jeep world help me out

Hey guys I thought I would pop in here and see what you think of my situation right now. Im looking to get a jeep that can be my DD and do some off-roading. I live in WI so probably not like crawling MOAB but hitting up the pipeline here and some dunes in MI, but mostly daily driving.
I have about 9k to spend and am thinking a wrangler but cherokee would be good also.
What are your thoughts on my options?
I really need to get something that has lower miles (under 100k, dads rule) so that probably lowers my year range but let me know. As I said im new to jeeps.

My basic requirements are:
low miles (under 100k)
I6 or v8
and decent daily driver, I dont mind a little rough drive, my dads truck has towing suspension that acts like its not even there so I am kinda used to it.

Thanks in advance
