dabolt55 Welcome to the OP, and welcome to you. Not sure about the smoke, you may want to post at the TJ section for a quicker response..

Checking in with a question.

Hi everyone, glad to be a part of this forum. I'm recently purchased a 06 TJ unlimited. Took it offroad this weekend for the first time and as soon as i put strain on the transmission it started blowing smoke and burning smell from the tranny front cover. Any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks

Checking In

What a great forum. I am a first time Jeep owner, and I feel pretty fortunate to have access to a resource like this one.

I've already learned more from the folks here than I'll probably ever contribute, so -- sorry for being more of a taker than a giver (hah).
For the most part, I've kept my ears open and mouth shut -- just trying to learn as much about the vehicles as possible.

I would like to know enough to actually add some value to the forum one day, but since that day's not here yet, for now I'll just extend a sincere "Thank you" to the creators, moderators, and members who keep this operation online.

Thanks.
