The guys was upgrading to 8.8/44.. plus the 35 needs clutch pak, side gears, spiders, backing plates and shafts ( which I will be using off my 35 once I pull it)

Gears we PERFECT.... this was the only reason for the purchase.

TJDave Nice! I did the same thing. I bought a part every pay check or so. I collected a pile of parts that grew in the garage for almost 10 months until I had everything I needed to tear into it.

It was great to finally get to install everything.

Got my D30/D35 combo with 4.56 TT in front and Det locked rear for $1000. Both complete drum to drum and Caliper/rotor to Caliper/rotor. I swapped drums to disc in rear before my swap over though.
LSD/open.... I have to use my backing plates and axles on the 35... I will be using my Clutch pak sides and spiders in the carrier so I know everything is good.

I have a 35 now... and all depends on how to treat it... sure... I agree.. not the greatest of choices... but upgrading it will come another time.

The thing is here, I need 4.56's... and why would I pass up the opportunity to get BOTH MATCHING front and rear axles only cost me $150? You can't buy just the gears for that little.

Time is not wasted in my book... chalk it up and call it increasing your knowledge and experience.

This way I have saved a ton of money to do other stuff and gets me where I want/need to be gearing-wise and build-wise. Money well spent IMHO.
