Never think of wheel widths as to be matched with tire width, like 12.5" wide tires with 12.5" wide wheels, nothing could be further from the truth or what would work well. Matching the two widths would make for a tire that would have a tough time remaining seated.
First, a tire's width is only measured at its widest point, half-way up the sidewall, not at its tread or beads that mount on the wheel. A 12.5" wide tire is more like 10.5" wide at its bead and tread width.
For a 12.5" wide tire, optimal wheel size for a tire that gets aired down for offroading/paved road use is actually going to be a 15x8. That size wheel is better able to keep a tire seated once it has been aired down for offroading. For pure street use, a 15x10 is fine.
I wouldn't run a 15x12 wheel for any conceivable tire size that would be commonly used on a Jeep.

|Ibuildembig||They could be a Mickey Thomson/Alcoa in which case, that's lightyears over what you have. They should say on the backside of them either MT or Alcoa....the classic II's didn't have the holes in that location and they are alot bigger. They are a forged wheel versus a cast wheel like 98 percent of the crap made today. That being said, they never made a 12.5 wheel, its either a 12 or a 10. Measure between the beads and that will tell you what it is. If its the real deal I would trade him in a heartbeat because those wheels will outlast any jeep.....and you can polish them to a mirror in a flash.|

|Badass_TJ||you dont need a 12.5 rim because you run a 12.5 tire, if i read that right and thats what your saying, a 10" wheel is fine. alot of people even say thats to wide, most people say 8" wide rim is perfact for a 12.5 tire. ohh and your wheel are def better id keep those....|
