that's him trying to "SSHHOO" you away. its extra work for him as he has to deal with the warrantee people both in house and at Chrysler. Also, many service writers are used to the "soccer moms & dads" who don't ask questions and just drop the dodge caravan off then pay. We jeep people are typically a different breed and a pain in their ass haha

i have been at my dealer every monday, the last 4 mondays... not for the rust, but i ask every time.

mind you, i'm not being rude or gruff at all, i'm being a gentleman. however, i'm just not going to give up.

Also, for those with a hard top, there is a service advisory about the t-tops leaking and filling up with water. It happened with mine and so I had to get that replaced too at the same time. Just something else to watch out for. It was awesome. After hard rains, my top would fill with water and I could hear it sloshing around and I would get a shower each time I turned or stopped. Lol.
what style did they replace it with?

TW CODMW3 Added this last weekend.

CoreyZ I gave up on the front bumper.... It was too wide for me and rusty so I chopped it into a stubby and painted it up.

She's a little dirty but this is after I got her new tires on.

35" MTR's with RE 2.5" coil lift. Still need to do arms/trackbars/tie rod flip/bolt upgrade, rear tire carrier w/ spare, some more armor underneath, winch... the story never ends.

10-4... i just told him (service writer) my bumper is rusting, is that covered, he took pics and told me he'd submit it to Chrysler. i guess it depends on what he tells Chrysler... crap shoot, but worth rolling the dice.

JaysGolf please, let me/us know if they replace it with the original or the one with the roo-bar..

http://www.quadratec.com/products/pr...rier&submit=Go

On the aev website, go to the tire carrier for 759. The part number ending 25AA is the upgrade. Since it is out of stock, you can't click on it but same price as the quad link above.

JaysGolf regarding the rust on the front bumper, my dealer took photos and submitted them to Chrysler with the hope of a replacement. he said there's a possibility since rust is covered. ~fingers crossed~

I bought it, there are two versions available. The tire carrier alone and the COD up grade tire carrier, it's like fifty bucks more. The upgrade gives you the new corner (water tank) with the hole in it for the carrier. Although you can use a 3" hole saw, I recommend the upgrade, it looks nicer....I did the hole saw while waiting for the corner(shipped separately for some reason.)..either way the whole bumper needs to come off to mount the bracket properly. It comes together real nice though, I'm completely happy with it.

Found this one yesterday, about as cheap as you will find one.

You can order it through AEV or Northridge Or quadratec but they never go on sell. They also are not included in any of the discounts that they offer for military or forum members. Full price no matter where you get AEV parts.

i look forward to seeing the pics. i don't have much visible rust, but i don't know what's under that "lip".

i don't think it's plug 'n play as with the non-mass-production AEV bumper... and, no, AEV doesn't go on sale... haha
