^^ This. I'm not sure about the '08's, but on newer models the fuel pump is inside the gas tank, and the gas flowing through it helps keep it cool. So running your tank dry could cause problems.

Rubicon24 Lol , yeah I wish it ran on e without putting gas in it !
Just wondering if it's a hard fix and the price of a fuel sensor or whatever the problem is

Fishin Cricket You must have gotten one of the ones that doesn't need fuel... Just keep driving it and report back on how far below E you made it..

(it seems to be a thoroughly discussed issue here, folks are aware.. Once you hit E you have anywhere from 1 to 4 gallons left in the tank. It isn't good for your fuel pump to run it on empty though, IMO..)

Jk gas gauge

Have a 2008 JK unlimited and the gas gauge is showing empty but it's not , wondering if anyone else has had this prob.
