I have a 13' square stern Sportspal canoe ....I just bought a Wilderness rack for cheap at $225 It will assist attacking the Canoe on top with the top up.

To the OP, I see many boards on Jeeps in Hawaii across the light bar and roll cage. Short distances in Hawaii though.

^ This... except my longest is only 6'2" so it fits pretty easy.

Jp90Talon Well I picked up my 13 foot kayak yesterday and didnt have an issue so my guess you should be fine with a surf board.

To make a bit easier I purchased the accross the rear bar so I will be able to mount it up top down the road.

QADaemon I use the olympic quick rack, some pipe foam, and soft ties. Works great. I used to just use a regular set of dakine car-top straps, but it made a hell of a lot of racket.

sonofabeach I've had two kayaks on mine with the top down. I think a surfboard will be fine.

KidRock171 On top works. Bungee around footman Loop. Over door surrounds. And some way to attach it in the rear. My drive to surfside isn't very far.

Putting Surfboards on top?

Has anyone ever tried to put a surfboard on the top of your Jeep with the top down? I was looking at it today and it seems doable with the way the bar is set up, has anyone ever tried it? Have any tips? Thanks.
