If you have the SKIM Sentry key, you will need to move the SKIM module in the steering column over between the two and keep them paired up to the PCMs.

Why anyone would want to swap in a 42RLE is beyond me, but maybe I can help...
Regarding the TCM/PCM - they are HEAVILY integrated. In fact, in the 06 model, the TCM is part of the PCM.
Act under the assumption you will need to swap everything....PCM, complete wiring harness, pedal assemblies, switches, sensors, even transfer cases (input shaft length on the t-case is different between auto/manual). Keep in mind the output of crankshaft on the engine is slightly different as well (should be a pilot bearing on the manual).
Since you have both complete vehicles, it would probably be easiest to pull the whole front end off both vehicles (grill & fenders), and swap the engine/trans/t-case as one complete unit without unbolting them.

'06-'06 NSG370 to 42RLE swap
New to JWF, this being my first post. I've read several swap threads similar to the following but my situation is a bit different.
I currently own a TJ and an LJ - both 06's - one auto, one manual - both CA vehicles. I'm contemplating a tranny and gear box swap between them.
On the surface they appear to be perfect mutual donors. In theory I could swap everything necessary to make the conversion since the vehicles will be side by side during the process. But what issues are lurking with regard to the PCM and TCM? Can they simply be swapped? Will the security keys in the column become an issue? If so, can it they be swapped? Other issues to consider? This can't be as simple as swapping parts.
