|Travis91||after it rains you could also spray some wd40 on either the distributor or the wires and and see if it misses after that, the wd 40 should draw out the moisture so you might be able to find out wats going on|

|yjtodd||The 95 will give you codes to let you know why the Check Engine light is coming on. If you have a Haynes manual the procedure is in there + the codes. Just turn the ignition on and off twice and on a third time, your check engine light will flash then pause and flash again. ( Important do not start the engine just on / off). Count the flashes it will give you like 21- 33 etc. It may give you multiple codes. It is done the process after you get 55. This will at least give you a starting point. Hope that helps. If you do not have A/C it will always give you code 33 (AC relay) ignore this code - it will not make the check engine light come on.|

|J-Rad||check your mass airflow might be dirty. M jeep was missing and cutting power turned out to be a dirty mass air flow. I just replaced it tho :-p|

"missing" in the rain.
Check the intake hoses and the air box. if there broken and rain water gets in then the engine injests water and can cause it to miss. it can also be loose spark plugs or bad plug wires. run the jeep in the dark and see if the the wires are arking. if there wet it can get worse. good luck tracking the problem.

|salmansaif||I changed the distributor cap, plugs , and wires and it rained last night and the same thing happened although hesitation wasnt as bad. The check engine light came on ... but went off after the Jeep was in the sun all day.....|

Might as well do a tune-up whilst underneath the hood.

|89 strangler||More than likely you are getting moisture in the distributor cap.Next time you jump in it and it does it,take the disributor cap off, spray it out with some WD40 and re-install and see if that helps.More than likely that's where your problem lies.|

Hesitation/missing after being in rain!
Whenever my jeep is not in the garage, and it rains overnight, the next morning, the check engine light comes on and my jeep hesitates and misses quite a bit. After about 20 or so mins of driving, it was fine last time.
Last night it rained all night, and it is doing the same thing. I did not drive it more than 10 mins today, so I don't know if it is going to go away.
It is kind of like a clogged fuel filter, but rain should not have an effect on that. Every time I change gears, and press the gas pedal, it hesistates, i give it more gas, and it goes fine and then happens again when I change gears - happens in all 5 gears. It is 1995, 4 cyl.
I am thinking maybe the rain is making the moisture get into somewhere near the spark plugs, or the O2 sensor?
Any thoughts ... ?
