|JTjeep64||I did a live chat AND called Rough Country today and they couldn't even answer my questions about THEIR lift kit. All in all I was very displeased with the customer service I received. Looks like I'm sending it back and getting the Teraflex BB.|

Assuming you have standard poly spring spacers, buy this: Jeep Accessories - Rear Bumpstop Extension Kit
I'd also recommend 1" front bumpstop extensions...which you install by drilling and tapping the spring perch, and bolting them down. I use Performance Accessories body lift pucks, with bolts from your local hardware store...cheap and effective.
I would have suggested the Teraflex BB kit with either Old Man Emu, BDS or Skyjacker Hydro shocks. But you can make what you have work...it'll just cost more money.

UnlimitedLJ04, thanks for the explanation and links on why you should have them ...
So are you saying that without the bumpstops the coil could compress too tightly (or over compress) damaging the coil?

|JTjeep64||I've been agonizing over which BB to get and I chose the Rough Country over the Teraflex bc it was a little cheaper. Now apparently I don't have everything I need? I'm a complete noob when it comes to working on the Jeep and I don't want to do a half-ass job.|

Now, go outside, crawl under your Jeep, look at the springs and think about something - Where does the spring compress into? It has a physical size, so where do the coils fit when they compress?
Well, without bumpstop extensions...it has nowhere to compress...so you get lots of coil bind....which yields sag over time.
Possibly more important is the ability of the extended bumpstop cup to retain the spring during suspension cycling. Otherwise, the spring can fall out....here's an example of that:

I saw a 2" BB that didn't come with them and the seller said this ...
Inexpensive Rocky Road budget lifts for your Jeep TJ Wrangler
I don't work for RRO and I didn't write that so please don't flame me
It would be nice to have more of an explanation as to why some say the bump stops are needed ...
I'll keep an eye on this one ...

bump stop extensions?
Just ordered a RC 2in BB and realized the kit doesn't come with bump stops. Is this something I am going to need?
