Nativeindian_15 My favorite thing is when I'm driving and someone on the side of the road or in a parking lot waves, because probably 95% of the time you know they are a jeeper

This is probably the most true statement I've read so far

mijeeper80 As far as all this crap about yj's not being "real jeeps" that's a load of crap! Before I bout my yj I had similar feelings but when I found the jeep I liked I picked my yj because it was made back when you could work on them. I looked under the hood of a tj and it looked like a Subaru. "Real jeeps" are jeeps YOU can work on not your mechanic for 150 dollars an hour. When you ride in a jeep you should feel like your really driving it, bouncing and all, not sitting in a coil springed luxury vehicle with ac and gps and seat warmers

AND WHY NOT HUMMER????? Because they are FAKE the are nothing but a mall crawler on a Chevy truck frame. :face palm: if it was a REAL "hummer" it would be a whole different story

dewey7015 I used to get mad that they didn't get it..same as when I am on my zzr1200 Kawi, and wave to the Harley CEO types..now, as I get older, I prefer the "they just don't get it" mentality..lol

EPM81 NYC area here. Absolutely no wave... Well ok it's not zero. I've gotten 1 wave and it was a TJ. You just get weird looks when you wave. One guy thought I was flipping him off. Haha.
Digger70 I get a wave 20% of the time.

DeadmeatTJ Oh don't get me wrong, I joke with my wife about JK's being a "yuppie jeep" but I like the JKU, we rented one when we first moved to the island before I bought my TJ. Like previously said, it just seems like some of the spirit is gone with the newer owners.

Old Syko My apologies to Jaker for breaking the spell but I just couldn't believe. For all the guys that can't get the ladies to wave just do what I do. Just wave about half your out the window as you approach her. Just be careful in close quarters. They all wave back at me.
dewey7015 unfortunately, I seem to be in the minority...I love my JKU. I honestly get where your coming from, from a purist standpoint. From the other side, I like the new freedom top, don't have $2000+ to lift it right, and put 35's on it. I like modding it just as much as you guys, but straight out of the box...it's a pretty good vehicle. I took a lot of crap driving a 2.5l 92 wrangler, because it "had square headlights, so that isn't a real jeep" my reply usually was, "unless you drove one in WW2, aren't we ALL posers?
I chose a jeep, same reason I chose a bike. I like the outdoors. people who ride both of these vehicles enjoy the outdoors, or they wouldn't have them. For the people who don't wave back? I just smile and know that "they don't get it"
DeadmeatTJ Oahu, HI here... TJ and older about 90% wave. JK's 10% but I think that may be because 90% of them are rentals. Now I just look for the barcode sticker in the window

Yup. Just keep on waving.

mastrcruse I wave at all wranglers. Only ones that don't wave back usually are woman. I did however see a very good looking lady in a beast of a rubicon, doors off, professional clothes and all, speed up and wave before she got off the highway.
