mjsheth Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Well, I found and bought a Wrangler...it's a 2001 Wrangler X Sport with 87K miles.
Some work needed, but overall seems to be in fairly good state.

I have to say, I drove it around for some time, and boy is it FUN!!!

I read the forums for some good tips- So many folks to thank for those...thank you all.
My son and I are looking forward to starting on the "Jeep project"!

I'll post progress, I hope everyone is ok with my never ending questions!

Thanks all.

JDsDream Welcome to the Forum

We have several father/son and father/daughter build threads here in the forum. I think that it's a wonderful idea for a new driver to help build his first vehicle.

New to Jeeps and new to the Forum!

Hi there folks,

I'm starting to look for a vehicle for my son who'll be driving next year...(Get off the roads everyone!)... I thought it would be cool to do what my dad did with me...which was to get a car together that we could work on together and fix up/upgrade and have some good times doing it...and when he's ready to drive it, he'll know how it works and have some sweat equity into it...

I looked around and researched and the Jeep Wrangler seemed to be a good bet...

I want to keep the cost of purchase fairly low ($10K?) and looking at TJ's which seem to be in that range...thing is most are over 100K miles (anything about Jeeps at that mileage that I should be concerned about??)

Anyhoo, looking forward to being a part of the Jeep community...will update when we've found a potential Jeep - any help experienced Jeep owners can share would be most appreciated and welcome!

Cheers.
