Pics of 2" skyjacker lift

Hi
It is thanks to advice from wonderful people in this forum that I got the lift I wanted. I know I could have probably bought it cheaper on ebay but I ordered it from Quadratec and had a local mechanic install it.
You are right, 31's will do fine. I just have to explore options on brands and types of tires based on recommendations from the forum as well. I want an aggresive looking set but good enough for highway/rain/snow driving. Here's a pic of the new lift (on a slope).

FuzzyDolly You have no idea how helpful this thread is. I've been toying with the idea of getting that same exact kit. Guess I might as well just order it now.

just go with which one you think would work best for you. as far as my opinion, i think the bigger the tire the more your lift dissapears. you get the lift to gain clearance for obsticles and bigger tires (and looks). when you try and fit the biggest tire possible under your fenders you take away from the amount of flex, loose gas milage, and the tires make things look crowded. i just think that everything would look cleaner with 31X10.50's under a 2 inch lift. however if you are wondering if you could fit the 32's the answer is yes. the only way that you might have rubbing is if you kept your factory wheels (because of the off-set). hope this helped. and remember in the end you are the one who drives and looks at it everyday so get what you think would be best.

tjway I run the rocky road 2" BB that came with shock extenders (so I could keep my 0" lift Rancho shocks). I also did a 1" body lift and a 1" motor mount lift.. no problems...

03Leo Thanks again. I don't think I'll need them. The only off-roading I do is on the sand in Florida maybe once a year and I love to drive out for fun during and after snow storms in the Northeast.

mrbigjeep i don't think you'll need them if your not wheeling...but it would be great if you like to disconnect them off road for more flex

1BLKJP I don't see anything wrong with that kit. Never used it myself, but looks pretty standard for a spacer lift. Only other thing I would mention in getting would be longer sway bar links. I can't remember if you said you were going to be wheeling or not, but it wouldn't hurt to have them. I know Rock Krawlers 2" kit comes with shocks and sway bar disconnects.

So the reason why I posted this is because I was ready to buy the skyjacker kit from Quadratec (even though their shipping is very expensive, but customer service is great). Then I saw a posting on ebay for the spacers only and sent an email to a seller (Fortec Jeep in Florida) whom I've gotten accessories from before and asked if they had spacers. They sent me an email back with all the cons of getting spacers and I guess they wanted to get me to buy a more expensive kit with new coil springs, shocks and all. 1BLKJP Scout, I agree with you I'm on a lot of other forums too. But I am one that follows function over form. There is no logical reason that a Spacer lift won't work for half of all people that want to lift their jeeps. Does mine have one? No. However when I did my build I did it once and started with 35's.

Keep in mind that there are a million different Jeep Forums out there. Be sure to join and participate in a forum that best suits your needs. Posting a BB question over at JU is only going to get you talked out of something practical and into something you don't really need.

Example: Jump over to Pirate 4x4 and ask them about BB's. You'll get my drift then.

If you're looking for good solid advice for the non "hard core offroader" this is the best place to post.

1BLKJP Just curious, but what reasoning did others have for you to not run spacers?

I would however caution you to not buy a spacer lift setup that doesn't include new shocks with it. Stock shocks don't have a whole lot of travel in them already and if you expand them out another 1.75 or 2 inches then it could cause you some discomfort in your ride.

Scout I've run a 2" BB and never had a problem. Now I run a 1.25" BB on top of a 4" lift and still have no problems with the spacers. A BB is the best way to go - period.

mrbigjeep better than a BL...only negative things is that you could get a few vibes...but they would be very slight and would easily go away with just a transfer case drop kit (spacers)

upinar i run with 2 inch spacer lift and there is no problem with them. very cheap and easy installation. I say thats your best option.

4Jeepn No issue with bb's and I run one on top of 4.5 springs. easy to install, another vote for RE as I just would feel wrong about having procomp stuff on my jeep..LOL

mrbigjeep no reason not to run a BB spacer lift...i've heard a few good and bad things about the pro comp kit...most of the bad things were that it rides rough but that can be solved with new shocks...but why not just go with the spacer lift? its cheaper!
4wd hardware also makes a 2" kit with new springs if thats what you want...the RE BB is pretty popular and i've read some good reviews about it...only bad thing i've heard of it is once again that the shocks (don't know which ones) made the ride really bouncy...but you can get different shocks

khenderson there are a ridiculous number of people that run the spacer lift(aka. BB's). i am one of those. there's no reason why you shouldn't run this lift if you're just looking for an inexpensive way to get a couple of inches. there aren't any big problems that arise with a BB either, expect the possibility for slight vibes. you don't really have to worry about overcompressing your springs if you aren't gonna be hard wheeling(and most kits have bumpstop extensions anyway). ride quality is affected by your springs. i run a REBB(rubicon express BB) and it's a bit stiff for my tastes. i could run softer springs but i'm just lazy. hope this helps a bit.
