|JCS05Rubi||Skitz, try going to a different dealer. I haven't had good luck in Maryland, but I have heard of a few cases where the dealer was able to get Jeep to warranty the crappy azz paint on the 2005-2006|

Bleh. I went back and started complaining again, they took it back 'to do the touch up for free'...wait until I get these pictures posted. It looks like they used a nail polish brush to put on that paint...I could have done a better job in my sleep. I'm thinking they probably didn't take off the rust...then when I started freaking out they told me they did that as a favor to me because I'm a loyal customer (I sent a few people there because they were so nice at first)...
I'm thinking about just getting the outside resprayed. I should get the ouside black and leave the inside red.

|Triple88a||my jeep is a 2000 IN THE SALT BELT and the body is not rusting nor the paint is falling off. The frame is bad but the body is great.|

|JCS05Rubi||2005s and 2006 have lots of paint problems. this is a well known issue. The hood paint flakes or gets spots WAY too early, the roll bars don't get painted all the way, the paint gets a LOT of chips in between the flares and the rear quarter panel (this may just be rubicons with the wider flares), and the paint on 05s-06s just generally chips and scratches easy. I got lucky, I only have very minor chipping between the flares and the quarters, and I only got 4 spots. 2 faded spots on the hood that look like chemical contamination, and 2 spots where it bubbled and stoped. touch up paint did the trick. My roll bars are not painted all the way though|

I would get really pissy with them and tell 'em to fix it. I had a Ford Ranger years ago that I DIDN'T do when it ran into similar problems and the problem only got (MUCH) worse.
Bitch 'em out and/or take it to another dealer.

Ok so my baby isn't that old. I rolled her off the lot in Aug. of 06, brand new with 8 miles on her...now, not even 2 years and only a handful of easy trail rides later (all last summer, and all followed by very careful inspections), I notice bubbles in the paint.
Yes, bubbles. The first one I saw I thought was only a dust mark, so I went to brush it off, and off came a dime sized chunk of what I thought was only red paint. I take it to the dealership a week later (they keep stupid hours and I was leaving on a business trip), and the chip is already starting to rust. Then, to my astonishment, I notice paint peeling all over the hood. I mean, it's bad. Some of the bubbles are a half in wide! AH! The dealership says all they can do is give me touch up paint.
...even though the paint is obviously bubbling.
Anyone else have paint problems with Jeep?
Tah tah lovelies.
