My only other idea is doing silver for the middle dash piece with the stereo and AC controls, with the rest black. Thoughts? Ideas? I dunno if Krylon even makes silver, but I'm pretty set on using that product. I attached a picture of a Jeep same color as mine, inside and out. Definitely not my exact Jeep, but the colors are pretty close. Thanks!

:-( i donno how to paracord
there are a zillion videos on you tube on how to do paracord, whether its a key chain or a jeep handle or a steering wheel. I started with zipper pulls after finding the 'weave' I wanted.
Camo? but I've already started with orang-y accents on the interior...'jeep' on the a/c vent covers, seat towel covers, I even painted the center circles on my wheels (bout the size of a silver dollar)...trying to find orange rubber floor mats but no luck so far (not enough demand for orange, I guess) haha. I can't change to camo now!

Nah, I extended the wires on the stereo and put it in the center console. Trying to find a marine wired remote with a display I can stick on the outside of the console so I don't have to open it up to change anything.

did you ever find this? I've been looking for one for ages!

Does this affect the airbag at all? seems like a stupid question but I can't get a straight answer. Thanks!

flowerfistandbestialwail I can definitely give that a shot when I'm done! I have to split my work cause the console wouldn't come out (one single impacted bold head!! >) has sort of forced me to go through the whole cleaning/painting procedure twice over

Then you should combine the two to helps others such as myself.

Thanks to this thread and the ideas!!!

1monday I have a JK in a 3D drawing program (the details are excellent) and I can change the colors if anybody wants to see what a color might look like before they take the plunge, it's very simple, just pm me. Can probly get other jeeps too, idk

SinkOrSwim I've got some serious overtime coming up in a couple weeks and was looking into lift kits but I think this would make the wife much happier. I've owned the Jeep less than a week and already am feeling the pull to make it my own. Thanks for the great thread and the advice to help me modify without overspending my budget (again). The lift will be waiting until next year...

flowerfistandbestialwail Yup, as I expected y'all can ignore my last post. Got so eager I asked before reading further than the first few pages.

Now, for an answer I have not found yet: anyone have any idea if there's a duplicolor or fushion that matches spice pretty closely? I'm going to be bedlining with spice monstaliner and while I'm planning to do most of my dash/doors/console in black (to keep the current, original, 15-year-old camel from clashing and just looking bleh next to the shiny new spice) I'd like a few little offsets of spice to make it pop

On my way to read through the whole thread so if the answer is somewhere in there please feel free to ignore me, but I'd definitely love to get the details on taking the dash plastic off without removing the whole thing!

Good luck with your paint job

I've heard that putting a coat or two of duplicolor over top of the krypton fusion gets it to match pretty well. If you go to duplicolors site they have a PDF that lets you know their color code that matches your jeep color. That is of course if you don't have an Impact Orange jeep like me. No color match there for me.

I just cleaned everything really well. I used some simple green and then used water to make sure no simple green residue. The instructions say to clean with something alcohol based which I assume is to make sure there isn't any residue that might cause the paint to not adhere properly.

The Krylon fusion is pretty good proof. If you just take it slow and use light coats it's covers evenly and dries quickly.
