Typically, when I have worked on trailers and the lights were erratic it would be a poor ground connection. I would start by cleaning up the ground on the dash circuits.

Jeeprich25 Yeah. I'd start with a decent wiring diagram and start with the turn signal wire and work out to dash lights.

interesting electrical problem

Hi all,
I finally got around to working on some of the wiring oddities my jeep's former owner left for me, and in addition to the horn not working, some of the dash lights are cross-wired, I think. Everything functions normally with the headlights off, but if the parking lights are on and I flip the turn signal left, the dash light blinks as if the right signal if on (and vice versa). The exterior lights work fine.
What's more, when the parking lights are on and the turn signal is flipped, the speedometer backlight blinks as well. Also, the high-beam indicator is on when it should be off, and off when it should be on.
There is a giant mess of wires under the dash, so I think it could have been redone improperly. Any advice?
