|04moneypit||I know this is an older thread, but if you are wanting to go carb, the easiest way would be to get a cj rebuilders manual and follow the wiring diagram of an early 70's cj, with a new manifold and carb. You may even get a painless wiring harness for an earlier model. This way you could have your accessories already pre-wired and the hard work mostly done. Since FL is a non-emissions state, no worries about smogging it. Should be a fairly easy conversion. Or, for about the price of a new manifold and carb, you could get a used AMC V8 (304-401) and swap it in if you're looking for more power. It is a straight forward swap, I don't believe you have to change the bellhousing, Just motor mounts, maybe rad. and exhaust. Just a thought.|

|DownandDirty||If I keep the motor that's in it, I'm going to install an aftermarket intake and carb. I've never been a fan of the computer junk.|

I've got an 84 CJ7 that still has the factory carb and computer diagnostic junk on it. What is the correct way to delete this stuff? I'm pretty good mechanically but I figured I would find the correct way to do it rather than trial and error.
