SilverSport Supposed to be same technique but......you may damage it getting it off.

I just ordered the Drake Billet Shifter and transfer case knobs in black after the chrome ring came off my '12 sport after 7000 miles.

I have the same question...tons of threads and vids on removing the shifter knob but I've found nothing on the transfer case knob.

Same technique or do you have to basically destroy the transfer knob to get it off?

GonzoBobH My drake knobs came in the mail. Don't have a jeep yet, but the knobs sure are nice, though they seem kind of small-ish. Can't wait to put them on. 10 weeks since ordering and counting...

SlackerMD oh, definitely...i should add to do this only if you do not plan on keeping the knob.

Does this make marks on the knob? Maybe use some cardboard to protect?

kbwwolf Check out these threads. They may help...seems like some people have a lot more trouble than others:

2012 Shift Knob thread diameter?

daggo66 It has nothing to do with 2012. They have never been threaded. A good yank will pull it off.

After searching for 3 days on the internet I finally saw the shifter/transfer knobs I want... After several phone calls I found out that in 2012 Jeep decided to go away from the thread patterns and went with the spine set up?

Is this true and does anybody know how to remove the OEM knobs?

I really want these new knobs that I found!!!

Please help?

Thanks!!!!
