Hard top vs bikini

Hey guys, Muddybumpers here, this is my first time on here as a member. I am having an issue. I just installed the drill in style headed for my bikini safari top. Fits great....but, i only have a hard top and rain is coming today...so I put my hard top back on only to find that strip is in the way of the hardtop latches!!! Anyone find a way around this? Can I cut a section out of the drill in header?
