ShotgunRed218 You guys have a squeak too? I thought I was the only one. Can't figure out what it is exactly or I would fix it myself. I just feel stupid bringing it to the dealer because I'm sure they will look at me like what ever lady. I figured I would wait until it gets good and squeaky and then they can't say they can't hear it.

Was it more of a groan/squeak combo? Had the same thing. Dealer service lubed the whole thing up and it went away.

Supercop260 Update:

I went to lean the top of my driver seat the other day and it wouldn't budge. I leaned it forward to see if it was stuck and sure enough, once it leaned forward, it wouldn't go back. I had to resort to slamming my entire body against the seat to get it to move. Well, that worked a little too well and I heard a ratcheting sound as the seat flew all the way back. Yay

Called the dealer and got it in a week later. They said they would have to charge a $49 diagnostic fee if the fault wasn't from their tech when he worked on it 1000mi earlier. It wouldn't be an issue at all except I'm at almost 37K miles now = no warranty. They also tried to tell me that all they did was compare it to other Jeeps...a little different then the first time it was in when they supposedly took the seat apart to inspect it.

Today the manager called me and said they'd do me a favor and cover it under warranty and that they have to replace the seat frame. I'm glad they are doing the right thing and covering it but it's funny how the techs find problems once the warranty goes away.

Matador I had the same problem and a lot of creaking and the seat rocking back and forth. The dealer was useless. According to them the would have to take the seat apart, find the faulty part, document everything then send it to Chrysler for approval. In the end they felt it would cause more problems than it was worth and told me to pretty much live with it, its a Jeep. So I took matters into my own hands and fixed it myself

Supercop260 Thanks for the input everyone. It seems that the dealers are content with comparing the problem to other JK's and using the "it's just a Jeep" excuse.

I'm planning on calling the dealer tomorrow.

MotorCityBear No lean on mine but the drivers seat on my 2012Sahara has a very irritating squeak. I am planning on taking it in to the dealer as it seems to be getting worse.

Comac90 No lean on mine - in fact, I think it's one of the best stock seats I've ever had in a vehicle.

That's exactly what I'm planning on doing. My only issue is getting it to the dealer before I leave the state for training in a couple days.

Those of you who said the seat leans to one side, do you also have the seat adjustment problem? I wonder if those 2 go together...

If it's still under the bumper to bumper warranty, you need to insist it be replaced. Tell them it's causing back issues. If the service manager give no resolution, I would ask to see the the head of the dealership or refer your complaint to Chrysler customer care, but continue to stress that you are unable to drive the vehicle for any extended amt of time because the seat is causing back pain due to the akward position it places your upper body in.

JK driver seat problem

Does anyone else's drivers seat upper cushion lean farther back to one side? Mine sags farther back on the right side and using the adjustment to move it higher or lower requires me to pull the handle and actually force it to move with my other hand.

I had it in the dealer to correct the problem...they took the upper seat apart and said there's definitely a lean to it but they compared it to other JK's and it seems they all have a varying degree of sideways lean. Lon story short, they won't repair it.
