AV8R I had the same issue with my Shittybuilt console... Missing parts, wrong parts. I'll never buy another product with their name on it!

Glenn91YJ If it was easy everyone would own a Jeep!!!

I know exactly what you're talking about...I had the same issue when I installed my rear Smitty bumper. Seeing it was such a tight fit I made sure to use a little "anti-sieze" on the bolts so in the future I'd stand a better chance of getting them out! ...Come to think of it, there isn't a single bolt that hasn't been put in without it!!!

95YamJam Sorry to hear. Old jeeps tend to pile projects quickly. When I built my custom rear bumper I ended up rebuilding the entire back half of my frame rails and gas tank skid. Just to mount it.

You gotta be kiddin me with this bumper install..

Ok, after getting a little PO'd about how my Smitty bilt console came out with the wrong bolts and a dozen extra parts that were not even mentioned in the ridiculous directions, I decided to tackle my Rampage products rear bumper/carrier. I did a forum search and learned that this was going to be difficult..but geez, pulling the motor out of my vette was easier than this project!! First I pulled the old bumper off. No prob. Used the supplied template and all holes on the crossmember lined up. Perfect. It was here that if I had any sense, I would have checked the bumper with the template.

Put bumper on the ol' hydraulic jack and raised it in to position. I could see that the rubber bushing for the body mount would not allow me to keep one of the mounting bolts straight and I was afraid I would strip the threads in the bumper so I figured I'd just drop that body mount bolt. Easy right?? Couple of turns with the ratchet and SNAP goes the bolt mid way up into the mount. I have just bought myself one additional project.
The outer bolts of the bumper mount without issue. The center bolts are a complete nightmare. It is here that I see that the holes in the bumper are not lining up with the crossmember. Dismount bumper and drill out the crossmember holes.

Ok lined up now and there is almost no way I am getting these size 14 fingers back behind the crossmember to insert the bolts. I of course cannot find my wobble or u joint extension. I contort, cuss, scream and am finally able to position the bolts in with the tips of my fingers. My fingers look like I fought off a pit bull...but bolts are positioned and I will go find a wobble tomorrow.

I keep the bumper a little loose base on what I have read to help with the swing tire carrier mounting. Here's where I find that bolts are mismarked per the directions, some are missing and the tab that is on the bumper that catches the tire mount is bent forward and will not allow the arm to latch. Not a welder but I do have a plumbers torch I am hoping to heat up the tab to bend it back a little. No f'n matches to light torch. No beer. No patience. Done for the night. Sorry for the long write up but I had to vent. Thanks for listening
