fm jump When my jeep is dirty, my buddies want to jump in. When my jeep is clean, young women want to jump in. I keep it spotless as much as possible.

Yeah I have some nice low shine/sheen tire gel. Looks great on the gf's Altima and my old Z. Just seems out of place on the Jeep though even after I wipe it down to lower the sheen even more (it's never full on shiny, it's designed for a low key sheen look).

I have some stuff I really want to use but it's such a pain to put on the ribbed sidewall tires like the Goodyear SR-A's so I'm waiting until I get a smooth sidewall tire like the duratrac before I use it. It's like a black wax for your tire. NO shine at all unless you buff it with a wet cloth. It literally just keeps the tires a dark flat black. In other words they look like new black tires with no dressing on them.

Yep, hobby here too. It's a sickness I tell ya I get it dirty so I can play with the detailing toys, then I get it dirty again on purpose because it's fun, and I get to play with the detailing toys again.

I usually try for once a week in good weather, or as weather permits otherwise. I will probably be doing a quick detailer or waterless wash wipedown daily here soon though because the pollen will come out bad and that stuff is just nasty. It's like letting sand bond to your paint.

ShaunWV I will clean it up after a mud bath, an if it gets a salty and such. However, I refuse to use armor all/ tire wet/ ect on the tires.

I agree with you.

I figured since it's one of the most expensive things I've bought I want it to last as long as possible. One day a 2010 will be a 50 year old+ "classic".

damndirtydog I keep it showroom clean. I'm actually quite OCD about it.
Don't mind showing off some dirt after offroading, but mud has got to go. The longer you let the sun bake it onto the black plastic fenders and bumpers, it's tougher it is to get it off.
I just wish I could fit my wife, dog and Wrangler in bed with me.

I don't know what point the owners are trying to make, but Jeeps are just as susceptible, if not more, to corrosion and rust then other vehicles and the best way to avoid that is to properly clean it after using it. IMO a "happy" Jeep is one that has done a full day of work off-road and is cleaned up at the end of the day.

I took mine out for the first time on Saturday and it got very muddy inside and out. I actually did not want to drive it until I cleaned it up some. 90 minutes of TLC on the inside and I feel great about it again.
I am going to wash the outside of it today just because I don't want some idiot walking by to put "wash me" on it with a finger. Also to get the crud off the undercarriage.

hbgirl Sunday is Jeep cleaning day for me (if it's not raining); it's a stress reliever.

I don't mind getting dirty, but I certainly don't think a clean Jeep = unused Jeep. But maybe that's more of a "girl" thing.

CapnRich22 yeah mine is USUALLY dirty/dusty from desert trails... i don't care to wash it much, it looks damn good clean, but don't want people to get the wrong idea about her
04-02-2012 09:24 AM

Bizz Mine has been clean for a week and a half and it is killing me! It does not look right for it to be clean.

12JKUR How many of you clean your Wrangler everyday?

Fixed it for ya

Yeah, the meds help, but the black is way stronger.

White it may destroy the image of a jeep, I think white would have been a better choice for my happy OCD a$$.

Just sayin
