Jma20a start with a coarse grit and then move up to a finer grit, if it is too smooth from sanding the paint might not hold to great.

For the interior plastic I was wondering what grit should be used and how much should be sanded?

Not really but thanks for the information!

Reason I want to know the type of plastic is so I can read up on it instead of just throwing on some primer and paint and keeping my fingers crossed the paint won't just fall in a day or two.

activelydying I picked up some paint made for just plastics at the Advanced when I painted my dash and so far it's holding up well.
