Hulk yea got it now, just needed a little convincing to get enough slack in the strap to get her tight. thanks guys

Mine was actually too short as well. I added another strap from a no-name bikini top that was given to me when I bought this Jeep. I just cut it from the old top and added it to the new one. Sucks that they don't come long enough from Bestop, huh? You'd think that their R&D department would have figured that out. Overall I'm very happy with the top, though, and I think you will be as well when you get everything snugged up.

Hulk yea thats what i thought, but i tried and it didnt seem to be long enough to get back to the plastic piece to make it tight. ill have to try it again.

cavediverjc I just installed mine today. That strap goes through the footman loop on the center of your windshield (on the inside). Cinch it down tight; it'll help tighten the whole top and HELP keep water from collecting on the top. I emphasized the word "help" because it won't completely keep water from collecting up there in a heavy rain if you're parked.

I had one and I put it around the sound bar and back to the windshield frame strap mount above the rear view mirror it's been awhile but I'm pretty sure that's where it goes.

safari top??

after searching a bit, what i have is called a safari top? i think i have it installed correctly, just cant figure out where that middle strap by the sound bar goes??
