BarryOwings Thank you very much. I was searching the web while waiting for a reply and found the same answer on a website. They actually said to just use a double male adapter and a 2' piece of fuel line. The best part is they & you said the same thing - that its the axle breather line and easy to extend. Thanks.

jp2611 ....As it is the breather tube for axle top is not "hooked" to anything...on my '04 it just goes up beside vent for gas tank fill neck.

jp2611 I won't swear to it.....but suspect it is the breather tube for the axle. It is for when the water or mud or whatever get over the axle it won't get inside. It is not a "specialty" type of thing.....I would check Lowe's, Maynard's, Home Depot, maybe the local hardware store.....IMO auto stores/ parts shops may be much higher...could also check Pet stores aquarium shops....they may have a fitting to "lengthen" hose instead of replacing. Good Luck!!!

Please Help

I am putting a 3.5" lift kit on a 2005 Wrangler this weekend. I am definitely a weekend mechanic ONLY and need diagrams to understand what Im doing. Im doing the rear and there is a hose going from somewhere over the gas tank and connecting to the rear axle. It is being stretched when I drop the axle. Please someone tell me what this is and where do it get a longer hose on the weekend...
