Congrats bro. You should be getting a fine rig with no miles and probably not much offroading done in it "YET". Like you said yourself I believe. Everything can be upgraded.

Looks like you got a good deal on the Wrangler and a good deal on your truck so no losses all around.

Let us know when you get it home.

04moneypit I did have problems with my 35, but that's with a detroit locker and I sheared a bolt off the ring gear. No axle problems though.

Fapple Dana 35's are OK even on rocks just don't lock them, and also stay off the stupid peddle. Don't get me wrong I would rather have a Dana 60 but a lot of guys in our club are running the stock 35s I can't think of anyone running open diffs that have broken axles. One of the guys in the club put a detroit locker in and the first day he wheeled it he broke an axle. He took it out and put in a super 35 kit in. Never had a problem after that.

mrbigjeep i think 04moneypit on here had that upgrade but still broke an axleshaft...or somethin happened to his axle
09-23-2006 07:34 PM
lost yeah i guess you could either swap the axle out for something else or get a super 35 kit which upgrades the axles to 30 spline later on
09-23-2006 07:06 PM
mrbigjeep yeah you could always find an 8.8 or a 44 to throw under there...it is because the axleshafts are too weak (27 spline) to hold up to much abuse...although if you don't have a heavy foot you can be fine...as long as your not doin rocks

Why is this? It will do a little wheeling but it is going to be an everyday drive too. I could always throw a 44 under it though couldnt I?

Nick Just cause it has a metal drain plug doesnt make it a 44 none c-clip 35's will have a metal plug too.

well you've already got a lift and tires on it so you've already got a big thing right there...just depends on what your gonna use it for and what YOU want.

$ 19,800 is all the money on your truck. NADA on it is $ 19,250. I would say they are making you a very fair offer on your Toyota.

mrbigjeep well the engine is known to last pretty long...im guessing your mileage with the jeep would be around 11-15 and maybe a little more on the highway...give or take a few...best thing to do is kelly blue book the jeep and see what its worth...dont pay quite as much as what its worth though
