Yeah I agree with you.. that is why I just wanted to replace the bushings, but no one seems to have them! maybe I will ride down to advance later and see what they have to say about some bushings..

How hard is it to replace the links????? easy as it looks?

I wish I had the skills/stuff to make my own!!! Thanks for the help again bud!!

Triple88a I see, either way i wouldn't replace with stock. I find it worthless spending money on something as good as the one you have on now.

Do you have the tools and skills to make your own? They are simple to make, you just need a welder, a vice to bend stuff, a drill and a cutter of some kind (for metal).

4 point what are the new RE ones?

As i said the JKS are the only good ones i know but i will NOT spend 150 or 200 on them.

And thats the bushing you need right?
I am after the bushing that goes on the top of the sway bar link.. where the sway bar/anti sway bar is attached to them.. up closer to the fender.. its almost flat!!

keetz02 yeah, I have only been able to find a few stock replacement links.. I don't really have any intention of lifting the Jeep, I just think these things probably need to be replaced, I mean the bushings are seriously flat at the top.. Guess I am going to order something like this;

might just order them from the dealership... how hard is it to replace these? looks like I will need an alan wrench to get the the bottom piece off... a big one at that!

4point Tripp, the newer JKS and RE units don't have that problem any more.

Triple88a Np man. i havent seen them sell just the bushings yet. Are you planning on lifting it? Most lifts come with sway bar links... Honestly i wouldnt pay 200 bucks for 2 pieces of steel with a removable pin through it but thats just me. I'd rather cut a slice of a garden hose or something like that and use that as a bushing.

Most of the links i see come with the pipe in them.. those are pretty bad since they start rattling when the pin wears out a bit.

keetz02 looks like I am going to have to replace the link to get the link bushing??? or can I just buy the bushing??, haven't found one online yet, seem to want to sell the whole stinkin link! I think triple88a is making a career out of following me around on here and answering my stupid poorly written questions! appreciate the help once again bud!

you are correct sir, how easy are they to replace? the anti sway bar link bushings?. Is it worth upgrading to the quick disconnects if I don't do any serious off-roading?

4point Front only, and yes that is for a pair. They are the best, first upgrade you can do.

keetz02 the rubber piece that is destroyed on mine is at the top of this type of thing (which I think is a stabilizer bar?), but I think this one is on a Cherokee... Attachment 4190

I am just trying to replace the rubber (what is the proper term for that rubber piece?), but how much to quick disconnects go for/how easy is installation?

yeah, the ones up on the front of the Jeep, you can see them if you look under the front fender, on top of the Stabilizer Bar Link (where sway bar disconnects would go), or is that something else? It didn't look very hard to replace the piece of rubber there. So I would just need a socket wrench, rubber bushings and 20 mins? 4 bolts? should I replace the one at the top and the one at the bottom? its just the ones on the top that look really bad...

AzTJ The ones on the frame? Just get regular rubber ones. And yes, it's that easy, 4 bolts and you are good to go... just don't scratch the grill.

Sway Bar Bushings

Ok, so the other day I noticed my sway bar bushings were totally squished, for lack of a better word. The top of them look totally rotted.. What tools do I need to replace them, and how hard is it? looks like I just need to undo some bolts, put new bushings in and bolt the stuff back together, but things are rarely as simple as they appear... Also, I have been told/read there are several types of bushings (material they are made of) what type would be the best to use? Thanks!
