I bought a skyjacker 4-5" on craigslist two weeks ago, new in box with drop ptiman arm, all for $425.00 including shocks. The lift is great for the money, hands down even at $615.00 unless your gonna go fly over rough terrain at 60mph. Thats not what I do, I go thru mud, sand, etc. I have 35 toyo's and no rubbing, did with the 2" kit with 33's. Ride is firm and not to my liking, but I'll upgrade to better shocks later on. It's a wifey and jeep money thing. LOL Can't go wrong with this kit unless you have a bottomless wallet and only want the best. RK is my choice in the future or Teraflex. Good luck on whatever you do.

OP I have a 4" lift and 35's and the issues you will run into are.
1. also buy extended brake lines or you cant flex hard and might brake a line if you disconnect your sway bar.
2. If you live in FL you will not need a regear unless you want to get stock MPG back but if you live is a state with a hill larger than a speed bump you will do a lot of down shifting to get to the top I live in Hawaii and will be going to 4:88 gears soon.
3. No need in a new DS unless you are going to be going rock crawling every day to work you stock will work fine.
4. If the rims you get dont have the proper back spacing you will need at least one and a half inch wheel spacers.
Also look at my pics with the 4" lift I can easily fit 37's under my jeep like I said I already have 35's. There is something else I am forgetting but cant think of it rite now.

Honestly, if you got 410 gearing 456s would be a waste of $1200 for regearing.

Last year I did about a full day's research on gearing...using the wrong chart. Couldn't figure out why the #'s seemed so wrong. Oops.
One thing for folks looking at the charts: it's based on ACTUAL tire size, not what the tire is categorized as by the manufacturer. In other words, if you're reading the chart for "35's", use the rpms for the 34" tires.

|Destal||A lot of people will say they felt power loss upgrading, but if you are set on the lift and tires, I'd say drive it for a bit. If you feel like it isn't up to speed anymore, then upgrade. I want to eventually run 35's and I think I decided to go with 4.56 when I do.|

|JKralph||I'm thinking of regearing to 4.88, too. You definitely don't HAVE to regear, but doing so will restore (or exceed) the power you lost by putting bigger meats on. MTH has a nice graph showing rpm range, tire size, and gear ratios. I'll post it soon as i can get to a real computer...|

I've got 3.73 gears and 35's, and plan on getting 4.56 gears this summer. That'll put my rpms right around the sweet spot (2500 rpm) @ 70 mph in 6th gear. But I've got a manual, and auto/manual are a little different in how they respond to gearing.
Definitely drive it and see what you think. If you decide you don't need to regear, then – yeeeeha! – you've got $1500 to blow on other mods.

|Solidnuzz||Alright sounds good thanks. I know i will need to re gear too most likely. I have heard you can get by with the stock gears but also heard its better to go to a 4.56 or 4.88 gear ratio i believe. do you really have to do that with 35 inch tires?|

Rock Krawler also makes a good 2.5" lift. And OME (Old Man Emu) has a 2" HD lift that'll give you tons of flex.
You can clear 35's with a 2.5" lift, and if you put BW flatties on (or trim the stock fenders yourself), you can run 37's.
And with the 2.5" lifts, you won't have to mess with ds replacement. Although, if you're gonna run 35's or larger and plan to wheel it regularly, you'd be smart to consider beefing up your D30 front axle (not necessary with the D44 on the Rubi).

I'm sure there are folks out there who are gonna say, "I'm running my stock ds with a 4" lift, have 250,000 miles, all over Volkswagen-sized boulders, and I've never had a problem."
But if it was my Jeep, I'd change the ds.
