I start off taking Photos when I Paint Cars, (progression shots) but it never fails that you get involved in what your doing, and say to yourself, just another minute and I'll take a Photo. WELL GUESS WHAT ------ YUPP -- Ya forget to anyway.
Gota remember to heed my own advice on this one.

Real easy for me to sit here in my Chair and play Quarter Back
But maybe NEXT TIME, (if ever there should be a next time)
It might help to take the Photos BEFORE starting the work,
rather than after completion.

I'd take the tube fitting out of the pump & inspect the end of the tube...
take the tape off... does no good... the seal is not at the threads, they just pull the tube onto the housing to make the seal...
Female tube end/male housing flange... threads 'squeeze' the contact points together...
clean/inspect both seating/sealing surfaces...
you might have deformed the tubing end(out of round) by tweaking the tube...
fix it... you don't want a fuel leak in there...
keep a fire extinguisher close..!!..

|Buz 1||shouldn't have any thread sealer on that set-up. it seals the same way that a brake line seals.. just be sure to use 2 wrenches & tighten till leak stops..|

I am not sure what all I have, I imagine everything is stock/factory. Seems to be running ok with my limited knowledge. I have seen the diagram, I will try to study it better. I looked it over but it all just seems like gibberish to me, as I am so new. I will work on it. My brain is on overload, been doing soo much reading and research lol.
So the fuel pump is leaking where my finger is at, where that line/metal tubing threads into the pump. I have tried teflon tape but that didn't work. Can I replace that line? Is there a better name? Would that be cheaper then replacing the pump?
I think what happened is when I was trying to get the valve cover back on, I bent that metal line/tubing over a little bit, which caused the leak. I didn't do anything rough or forceful but it must have been enough. Do you think it is the actual pump that was damaged?
Darkproximity- I probably know them or know of them...small town lol. I had never really noticed before but MAN there are a ton of Jeeps in my town, wow. Except no one waves, only got one Jeep wave so far lol.

I HATE the hoses, drives me crazy but don't know what I can eliminate and how/where

That's your fuel pump. Need to stop that leak so it doesn't get worse.
Man, that's a mess of hoses. Do you live in an emissions state?

Can you see anything wrong? Did I screw up?
So this week I replaced my Valve Cover Gasket. This is probably the biggest mechanical job I have ever done (sad I know). It was quite the experience and I hope I did everything correctly. That being said, when I got started I could not believe the jungle of hoses that were under my hood.
I started off trying to mark them but couldn't get my tape to stick, so I said "bah, I will remember" I felt like I only disconnected a couple hoses and I took mental snap shots to remember (or so I thought).
Well when it came time to get the valve cover back on, I got so frustrated because I could not get it to seat well and I struggled at getting the gasket to stay in place.
When it was all said and done, I ended up being so frustrated that more hoses appeared to have gotten disconnected. I was at a lost at where some of them went. I had help from my father-in-law and grandfather (MUCH more mechanical experience) and I think we got everything hooked up right. Jeep seems to run good, so hopefully all is well. I just wanted to post some pics in case any of you saw something blaring wrong. Might be hard to tell from the pics but thought it would be worth a shot.
I also caused a leak in the fuel line(??) where the threads screw in. I tried some thread tape but that didn't work. It is not a gushing or pouring leak but while the engine is running anytime I touch it with my finger, my finger tip is covered with fuel. Any ideas on what needs to be replaced/fixed? (see last pic).
