j0nx The Polks require the Chrysler speaker wire adapters and the adapter mounting plate which is a non-working POS from everything I have read. The plate does not line up correctly. The price of the Polk S speakers with adapters is about the same as the price of the Kickers which is a direct no hassle swap. No idea which sounds better. I'm in the same boat and want to replace all of my speakers and add a small amp but keep the stock HU.

tt7198 Also, Was the wiring just a plug in play or did you have to cut the wires?

tt7198 How easy were they to install? I bought the kicker speakers for the sound bar. The speakers fit perfect with no drilling. It used the factory, 3 holes. The Polk speakers has 4.

cdelamo Crutchfield seems to have a special now on Polk audio, buy 1 set get the second half off so I think I am going to go with the DB651S considering Crutchfield provides any adapters that it needs.

Thanks guys

strider_mt2k I got the Ss, and they're great!

I still have to go back and polyfil, but they sound great as-is and were a snap to install thanks to Crutchfield including everything needed.

positrak Funny. Just picked up my order for the S less than an hour ago. Had done minimal research, most reviews were very positive, that and the price to swap out brand new factory speakers. Prepared to take a chance. The thing with the S which registered with me is that you can use the existing speaker covers with them. I'm talking the sound bar which I what I bought them for.

Suprisingly small when I opened up the box and took a look at them. Slim is indeed what they are. You think there is a much bigger speaker in the sound bar simply from the cover. Hope to have it installed Monday or Tuesday. Should be an improvement hopefully.

Question Regarding Speaker Change on Wrangler 2011

Ive got a 2011 Wrangler Unlimited with everything stock. In the next week I will be upgrading my wheels/tires as well as the electronics. I had a question that maybe some of you can help me with.

I have been looking at the Polk DB651 speakers and they seem to do the job for most wrangler owners. Should I install x4 DB651 or x4DB651S? Or possibly combination?

Also, would you recommend any other speakers that are better?

Thank You
