no_limits_jeep they also have a switch that can be installed into the fuse block where the fuse goes to bypass the fuse and then you have a switch that still uses a fuse but you can turn it on or off simply by the flip of a switch.

Enjoy....

for few weeks before it starts peeling again.

I sanded mine down with the dremmel tool to bare metal. Painted it. Currently its worse than where it started because when cleaning it up, i chipped the loose bits of paint so now there is more of the metal uncovered.

There was some one that made a joke about them. Just paint them faster than they peel. I find this very true.

All the more reason to pull the fuse. I hate buzzers and don't need them since I learned as a kid to remember to shut the headlights off without needing a stupid buzzer reminding me to do so.

It's only meant for use when the door is off, or at least when the upper window is off when using half doors.

2much Heard of some guys having visibility issues with the mirror movers. Check your state, in some you are only required to have one rear veiw mirror

Jerry Bransford Mirror movers are in all of the Jeep catalogs like Four Wheel Drive Parts and Quadratec. They look like this and allow you to use your factory mirrors...

many will recomend using another mirror when you remove the doors however if you're like me and cannot have the doors off over night, then mirror relocation brackets might be the best choice since putting the mirrors on, adjusting them and hoping they dont move every time you pull the doors off just gets old. Also obviously doors with no mirrors are smaller and lighter than doors with the mirrors on. Here is what i made with some L brackets i got from the hardware store. Negative of those relocation brackets is you will not be able to see the passenger mirror with the doors on.

(i have couple more pics on my cardomain but those should give you the idea)

i dont know how the switch is on the 08ts however on mine, i turn the light switch and the lights go on. On ours, the light switch pulls towards the driver to turn the lights on. For the new tjs i think it spins and its on the steering column? Maybe you pull the thing outwards to turn on the dome light? No idea. Perhaps some one that has a new tj will chime in?

KBR97 well i got the doors off pretty easily for them never being off...ever.

Got a little creative with a 2 ton floor jack, 3 bricks, a piece of wood and a beach towel, lol.
Sounds a little much but it took less than 30 seconds to get each one off. And about a minute to execute the whole jack brick wood thing.

Triple88a i donno might be because i dont like messing with the tiny fuses giving or a chance of damaging the fuse holder thingy.

To remove the doors, undo the nuts (i think 13mm wrench should do it) and then unhook the strap on the inside and pull the entire door UP. If it doesnt come out, swing it in and out as you're pulling up. The passenger doors was my hardest since it doesnt get much use.

KBR97 alright found the fuse and pulled it...Now I just have to get the doors off. Original owner told me he never had them off...this is gonna be fun.

TxFireman1972 ok I just went and looked. its the bottom right fuse. It is marked "Door Sw Defeat"

In case you dont dont how to get to the fuse box...

open the glove box door...there is a black strap on the right hand side...just slide it out of the door. Then lower the glove box door and it will come off at the hinge. You will see the fuse box behind there.
06-10-2008 04:24 PM
TxFireman1972 there is a fuse behind the glove box to pull. it is even marked something like "door disable"
06-10-2008 04:07 PM
KBR97 where is that plug?...behind where the little door pin is?

I was thinking of just pulling the fuse?
06-10-2008 04:06 PM
4point There's a fuse block behind the glove box. Pull the one for the dome lites/dinger and no more problem.
06-10-2008 03:57 PM
Dare2BSquare unplug the door switch.
